A method of making a solid element device that includes a solid element, an element mount part on which the solid element is mounted and which has a thermal conductivity of not less than 100 W/mK, an external terminal provided separately from the element mount part and electrically connected to the solid element, and a glass sealing part directly contacting and covering the solid element for sealing the solid element, includes pressing a glass material at a temperature higher than a yield point of the glass material for forming the glass sealing part.

Solid element device and method for manufacturing the same

A solid element device includes a solid element, an electric power receiving and supplying part for receiving electric power from and supplying the electric power to the solid element, and an inorganic sealing material for sealing the solid element. The inorganic sealing material includes a low melting glass selected from SiO&#x2014;NbO-based, BO&#x2014;F-based, PO&#x2014;F-based, PO&#x2014;ZnO-based, SiO&#x2014;BO&#x2014;LaO-based, and SiO&#x2014;BO-based low melting glasses.

A solid state device has a solid state component, a power receiving/supplying portion that mounts the solid state component thereon for receiving/supplying electrical power from/to the solid state component, and a glass sealing portion that seals the solid state component. The glass sealing portion is formed of a BO&#x2014;SiO&#x2014;LiO&#x2014;NaO&#x2014;ZnO&#x2014;NbObased glass, which is composed of 21 wt % to 23 wt % of BO, 11 wt % to 13 wt % of SiO, 1 wt % to 1.5 wt % of LiO, and 2 wt % to 2.5 wt % of NaO.

Solid state device

A method for manufacturing a solid element device, which comprises providing a glass-containing AlOsubstrate () having a GaN based LED element () placed thereon, setting a PO&#x2014;ZnO based low melting point glass in parallel with the substrate, and carrying out a press working at a temperature of 415&#xb0; C. or higher under a pressure of 60 kgf in a nitrogen atmosphere. Under these conditions, the low melting point glass has a viscosity of 10poise, and is adhered via an oxide formed on the surface of the glass-containing AlOsubstrate (). A solid element device manufactured by the above method can be manufactured through a glass sealing working at a low temperature and also has a highly reliable sealing structure.

A solid-state element device having: a solid-state element; a power receiving/supplying portion for mounting thereto the solid-state element, and receiving/supplying a power from/to the solid-state element; and a wavelength converting portion having a phosphor layer formed inside a sealing glass having the same coefficient of thermal expansion as that of the power receiving/supplying portion for sealing the solid-state element, the phosphor layer being obtained by mixing a glass and a phosphor with each other, and melting the glass.

Solid-state element device and light-emitting apparatus using same

A solid-state optical device includes a solid-state element, a power supplying/retrieving portion on which the solid-state element is mounted, the power supplying/retrieving portion supplying or retrieving electric power to/from the solid-state element, and a glass sealing material that seals the solid-state element. The glass sealing material has a thermal expansion coefficient equivalent to that of the power supplying/retrieving portion. The glass sealing material includes a PO&#x2014;AlO&#x2014;ZnO-based low-melting glass that includes 55 to 62 wt % of PO, 5 to 12 wt % of AlOand 20 to 40 wt % of ZnO in weight %.

Solid-state optical device

A white light-emitting device using a fluorescent fiber includes a blue semiconductor light-emitting element () for emitting an excitation light (a), and an optical fiber () having one side end face and the other side end face, the excitation light (a) emitted from the blue semiconductor light-emitting element () being made incident to the one side end face to be guided to the other side end face. The optical fiber () includes a core containing therein a phosphor for emitting wavelength conversion lights by being excited by the excitation light (a) received from the blue semiconductor light-emitting element (), and a cladding member (B) having a light emission surface in its peripheral surface, at least a part of optically multiplexed lights, which are obtained by optically multiplexing the wavelength conversion lights and the excitation light, being emitted through the light emission surface.

White light-emitting device using fluorescent fiber

A solid-state optical device having: a solid-state element; a power supplying/retrieving portion that supplies or retrieves electric power to/from the solid-state element; and a glass sealing material that seals the solid-state element. The glass sealing material is made of a PO&#x2014;ZnO-based low-melting glass that has 45 to 50 wt % of POand 15 to 35 wt % of ZnO.

A light emitting device has a light emitting element, and a phosphor layer of phosphor glass to generate fluorescence while being excited by light emitted from the light emitting element. The light emitting element emits ultraviolet light, and the phosphor glass generates visible fluorescence while being excited by the ultraviolet light.

The present invention provides a high refractive index, high dispersion optical glass for precision molding, being free from harmful materials causing environmental problems, such as lead oxide, etc., and having a low yield temperature, a refractive index (nd) of at least 1.83 and an Abbe number (&#x3bd;d) of at most 26.0 and further providing a low softening property as well as an improved mass production property with less coloration, which is represented in terms of for making up the glass, by the following chemical composition (wt %):

An optical glass suitable for mold forming having a metal composition in wt % in terms of metal oxides calculated from the composition of the following components: PO34&#x2013;50%, LiO 2&#x2013;9%, NaO 7&#x2013;28%, KO 3&#x2013;27%, provided that the total of RO is 17&#x2013;41% (R: Li, Na, K), AlO6.5&#x2013;30%, ZnO 0&#x2013;22%, BaO 0&#x2013;21%, SrO 0&#x2013;18%, CaO 0&#x2013;16%, MgO 0&#x2013;14%, provided that the total of R'O is 0&#x2013;34% (R&#x2032;: Zn, Ba, Sr, Ca, Mg), ZrO0&#x2013;1.5% and F 1.5&#x2013;32% relative to the total weight of the oxides, and exhibits a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 350&#xb0; C. or lower and a specific gravity (Sg) of 3.1 or less and is excellent in chemical durability. The optical glass can be press formed at a low temperature of about 270 to 400&#xb0; C.

Optical glass suitable for mold forming

The present invention provides a high refractive index, high dispersion optical glass for precision molding, being free from harmful materials causing environmental problems, such as lead oxide, etc., and having a low yield temperature (At), i.e. at most 580&#xb0; C., a refractive index (nd) of at least 1.89 and an Abbe number (&#x3bd;d) of at most 23.0 and further providing a low softening property as well as an improved mass production property with less coloration, which is represented in terms of for making up the glass, by the following chemical composition (wt %): 

The present invention provides an optical glass for press molding, in particular, a low softening point glass which contains, in an oxide glass of phosphate type, a durability improving component in addition to glass forming components, and has a weight loss of at most 0.15 weight % in a durability test, and which is represented, in term of elements for making up the glass, by the following chemical composition (mol %):

Optical glass for molding

The object of the present invention is to provide an oxide glass capable of exhibiting a long lasting afterglow and photostimulated phosphorescence, whereby energy can be accumulated by radiation excitation, for example, by &ggr;-rays, X-rays, UV-rays, etc. and light emission can be continued for a long time even after stopping the excitation. That is, the present invention relates to an oxide glass capable of exhibiting a long lasting afterglow and photostimulated luminescence, characterized by a constitutional composition comprising, at least, terbium oxide (Tb O ) or manganese oxide (MnO), gallium oxide (Ga O ) or aluminum oxide (Al O ), alkali metal oxide or alkaline earth metal oxide and boron oxide (B O ) or silicon oxide (SiO ) or zinc oxide (ZnO).
