Appropriate bandwidths are allocated to base stations in response to variations in the arrangement of mobile terminals and according to the type of mobile terminals. Mobile gateways disposed between a plurality of base stations connecting a plurality of mobile terminals and a service network include a base station information acquiring unit that acquires communication capacities of the base stations; a mobile terminal information acquiring unit that acquires a communication capacity of each type of the mobile terminals; a communication bandwidth estimating unit that estimates the communication bandwidths of the base stations on the basis of the acquired communication capacities of the base stations and the acquired communication capacities of mobile terminals; and a communication bandwidth control unit that controls communication bandwidths corresponding to the base stations on the basis of the estimated communication bandwidth.

Mobile gateway, control method for the same, and radio access network equipped with the same

User traffic transmitted and received by a mobile station is distributed so as not to be converged on a gateway. The gateway includes a signaling processing device and bearer data processing devices, the signaling processing device is concentrated, and the bearer data processing devices are distributed to networks close to base stations. The signaling processing device recognizes, in response to a connection request from each mobile station, a position of the base station covering the mobile station, allocates the bearer data processing device connected to the network close to the base station, and connects the base station to the allocated bearer data processing devices.

The number of required GWs is reduced to suppress the number of facilities by storing MS information on an M2M connection in an external device, and cooperating with the GWs such as mobile GWs in a mobile system in which the M2M connection and a connection other than the M2M connection are mixed together. When an MS migrates to an idle state, the MS stores the MS information in the external device once, and deletes information from an ASN-GW. When the MS migrates from the idle state to an active state, the ASN-GW again draws the MS information from the external device, and again stores the MS information within the device, to thereby enable a communication. If a resource of the active state is short within the device, a migration from the idle state to the active state is enabled with the use of another ASN-GW.

Since user data from a mobile station always passes a gateway, even in communication between mobile stations in a cell of the same base station in the same mobile station system, user data is transferred to the gateway and the trombone phenomenon occurs. Traffic is concentrated in the gateway and networks near the gateway. A local routing node includes a unit for passing signaling of communication between a base station and the gateway according to a protocol of the mobile communication system, for extracting and decapsulating bearer data transferred between the base station and the gateway, and for thereby obtaining and transferring user data and a unit for encapsulating and transferring user data. The local routing node extracts bearer data, which is conventionally transferred up to the gateway, and transfers the data to the network.

After a first base station connects to a first mobile terminal, a first GW (gateway) receives a request for connection between the first mobile terminal and a second GW and identifiers of the second GW and the first mobile terminal and transmits identifiers of the first mobile terminal and the first GW to the second GW. The first GW transmits an MPLS allocation signal including an identifier of the first mobile terminal to the second GW via a second NW (network) apparatus. In a mobile communication system including a mobile terminal and gateway equipment for relaying a packet between a communication partner and the mobile terminal, if the gateway equipment receives the acknowledgement from the mobile terminal, the gateway equipment waits the transmission of the received acknowledgement to the communication partner until the estimated transmission time passes from the time at which the gateway equipment receives the previous acknowledgement from the mobile terminal.

A communication system which includes plural radio systems, and which connects to a terminal apparatus corresponding to the plural radio systems, comprising: access points for the each radio system; gateways; an authentication apparatus; and a home agent. A relay gateway apparatus (HandOver-Gateway (HO-GW) is provided between heterogeneous access networks (a WiMAX access network and a UMB access network). The HO-GW performs conversion of a movement control signal (an Inter-Access Gateway (AGW) handover control signal) and relay of communication data. When the relay is performed, user data from a correspondent node (CN) reaches a wireless terminal (mobile node (MN)) through a host agent (HA) of a core network, an access router ASN-GW, the HO-GW, and a base station eBS.

Disclosed herewith is a communication system, which can solve the following conventional problem that if packets exchanged between a terminal and an HA are encapsulated with use of the mobile IPv6 protocol, the PDSN cannot identify any IP flows in the mobile IPv6 tunnel. Consequently, there is no QoS usable appropriately to the services in the EV-D0 RAN. To solve such a problem, the PCRF notifies the HA of the filter information used to specify each IP flow and the flow label assigned to each IP flow. The HA then sets the flow label in the outer IPv6 header of the packet matching with the filter information and transfers the packet to the object unit. The PDSN then refers to the flow label set in the outer IPv6 header to identify the object IP flow in the mobile IPv6 tunnel. Consequently, a proper QoS can be usable for the services respectively in the EV-D0 RAN.

In the conventional network using the PPP stipulated by RFC1661, the LCP phase to establish an LCP link, the authentication phase, and the NCP phase such as address assignment processing of the NCP are sequentially conducted each time the line connection is performed, and hence the connection takes a certain period of time. Particular, in the case of the mobile communication, there is often performed operation in which connection and disconnection are frequently conducted in a short period of time, and hence when the operation up to the connection takes a long period of time, the usability is deteriorated. Therefore, a need exists for a configuration of an apparatus and a communication method to reduce the connection time. In the configuration, control information such as authentication policy and protocols for use beforehand determined in the communication system are set to each apparatus to conduct communication such that the respective processing phases of the LCP, authentication, and NCP processing phases are executed in parallel according to the values set as above. Also, in the configuration, the communication between the apparatuses is conducted using a combined PPP packet created by combining with each other the respective packets of the LCP, authentication, and NCP packets as the PPP packets to be communicated in the respective phases to thereby perform the PPP connection.

When congestion occurs in a RAN in a cell phone VoIP service, calls using the congested device are detected to permit generation of a restriction in call by call units. The congested device notifies call connection data passing through it to a PDSN, the PDSN finds the IP address of the terminal using the target connection, and notifies a CSCF as a restriction target terminal. The CSCF, in call connection processing, determines whether the calling/called sending/receiving user is the restriction target, and if so, determines whether or not the call should be connected with priority from subscriber data.

A communication system using PPP in which a plurality of layer 3 protocols are defined has a problem. PDSN cannot judge which of layer 3 protocols is equipped in a terminal, and NCP phase processes corresponding to all layer 3 protocols of the system are executed. This increases the number of PPP packets transmitted/received between the terminal and PDSN, which prolongs a connection time. In the invention, a new procedure of the NCP phase process is established in a communication system, by which the terminal firstly notifies a layer 3 protocol to PDSN and thereafter the NCP phase process is executed. PDSN waits for a notice of the layer 3 protocol from the terminal, selects the corresponding layer 3 protocol from the layer 3 protocols according to the notice, and executes the NCP phase.

A base station apparatus, a mobile radio system, and a transmission power control method that can perform transmission power control having the high interference suppressing effect with a smaller processing delay are provided. The base station apparatus comprises: a measurement part for measuring SIRs of a received signal subjected to interference suppression by an interference suppressing receiving circuit in a former stage in an interference suppressing receiving part of the radio base station apparatus, and of a received signal subjected to interference suppression by an interference suppressing receiving circuit in a later stage; a calculation part for calculating a correction SIR based on the obtained SIRs, and for estimating a transmission power control SIR from a current first stage SIR and a past correction SIR; and a signal generator for generating a transmission power control signal by comparing the transmission power control SIR and a target SIR. Control of transmission power of a mobile station is performed by transmitting this transmission power control signal to the mobile station.

The ATM cells in which the CPS packets are multiplexed are inputted to switching equipment. By a voice data decode unit within the switching equipment, for example, the CPS packets a and b are decoded into PCM codes a&prime; and b&prime;, respectively. ATM cells of an ATM type 1 in which the CPS packets a&prime;, b&prime;, y&prime; and z&prime; are multiplexed are generated by a channel switching unit within a network to be suitably inputted to AAL type 1 apparatuses.
