A printing apparatus includes a detection signal receiving device that receives a detection signal from a computer; where a printable condition determining device subsequently determines whether a predetermined printable condition is satisfied; where a power-ON device subsequently turns-ON the main power supply of the printing apparatus; and where a control device subsequently executes print preparation processing; wherein when the power-ON device turns-ON the main power supply of the printing apparatus, the printing apparatus is in sleep mode or energy saving mode in which electric power is supplied only to the control device and the detection signal receiving device; and the printing apparatus includes a power supply portion equipped with a battery, and when a power supply is started, first, the printing apparatus turns into sleep mode or energy saving mode in which electric power is supplied only to the control device and the detection signal receiving device.

Printing apparatus which eliminated complexity of power-on operation and can enter in print preparation when print is enabled

When a print tape () to be used as the label (&#x3b1;) of a first sheet desired by one user is printed with no cut and then predetermined conditions, e.g. 'time out elapse', are satisfied, the label (&#x3b1;) is outputted from a printer () in a cut state. When the other user instructs the printer () to make another label by auto-cut, the other label is cut and outputted. Even if the one user instructs the printer () subsequently to make the label of a second sheet by auto-cut to make a label () where the label (&#x3b1;) of the first sheet is connected with the label of the second sheet intentionally, the label of the second sheet is cut and outputted.

Printer and printing method

For programs selected as those whose label is to be created, a list of available templates is displayed on a arrangement processing screentogether with contents of EPG information acquired from an EPG information DB. The EPG information is displayed on a left screenand the templates list is displayed on a right screen, so that one template desired to be applied is selected on the right screen, according to which template, one or a plurality of the EPG information pieces whose label is desired to be created is selected on the left screen. A computer-readable storage medium is provided to have a print control program embedded thereon. Print control apparatus and print control program

A cable label having a desired configuration is provided without forcing a user to do any troublesome work. A character string to be printed on a cable label is memorized in a character string memory section. A print image generating section generates a character string memorized in the character string memory section. A designation and its outside diameter value, for example, of each of plural cables are memorized in a cable information memory section. A label length determining section determines the length of a cable label based on the outside diameter value of a selected cable. A print image arranging section arranges a print image generated by the print image generating section within a length determined by a label length determining section.

The present invention provides a printing apparatus that selects a suitable speed, thereby enabling a rapid printing operation with printing quality maintained. In the printing apparatus, the number of heating elements for every printing line is counted. A printing constant speed is determined based upon the dividing number of a thermal head selected from the counting result. Printing apparatus

A tape printer for securing a time period sufficient for processing printing data even if the rpm of a DC motor increases, when an encoder is used for detecting rotation of the DC motor. When the DC motor does not rotate at a constant speed, in principle, the encoder detects an amount of rotation of the DC motor. Accordingly, a thermal head is driven for printing, every time a predetermined angle of rotation is sensed. On the other hand, when the DC motor rotates at a constant speed, the thermal head is driven for printing at constant intervals.

Tape printer

A tape printer that prevents shifting of a printed dot due to a reverse rotation caused by the DC motor stop when power supply to a DC motor is resumed. When the power supply to the DC motor is suspended, the DC motor often rotates in a reverse direction immediately before rotation of the motor stops. The amount of reverse rotation is detected by an encoder. This amount is compensated immediately after the power supply to the DC motor is resumed. After the amount of forward rotation identical to the amount of reverse rotation amount is detected, printing is resumed by the printing head.

The tape printing apparatus 1 can perform recording on the large-width or small-width recording medium D2 or D1, furthermore, on the test recording medium D3 in accordance with the recording data. The control unit CP converts the data for the large-width recording medium to the test recording data able to be recorded on the test recording medium D3, and performs recording on the test recording medium D3 in accordance with the test recording data.

Recording apparatus

A multicolor printing apparatus having a multicolor ribbon shifting mechanism is disclosed wherein the multicolor ribbon is selectively separated from a print paper to be printed on prior to shifting the multicolor ribbon to change colors based upon a shift amount which is required to shift the multicolor ribbon from a current position to a next position in order to print characters having a desired color.
