A patch comprising a support layer and an adhesive layer, wherein the adhesive layer comprises diclofenac sodium, dimethyl sulfoxide, and citric acid; a mass ratio between the diclofenac sodium and the citric acid (mass of diclofenac sodium:mass of citric acid) is 1:0.15 to 1:0.45; and a mass ratio between the diclofenac sodium and the dimethyl sulfoxide (mass of diclofenac sodium:mass of dimethyl sulfoxide) is 1:0.75 to 1:3.

The patch is produced by first obtaining an adhesive agent layer composition containing oxybutynin and/or salt thereof as a drug, an acrylic-based polymer and/or a rubber-based polymer as an adhesive base agent, liquid paraffin, an organic acid, and a tackifier; heating the adhesive agent layer composition at a temperature in a range from a melting point of the drug to a temperature higher than the melting point by 10&#xb0; C. for 2 to 24 hours; and slowly cooling the heated adhesive agent layer composition to obtain the adhesive agent layer comprising the drug at a supersaturated concentration in a dissolved form.

Patch and method for producing the same

Adhesive patch

A patch formulation for external use where a basic drug, an organic acid and an organic acid salt are combined as essential components is disclosed. The basic drug is preferably in the form of its acid addition salt. The organic acid is preferably a carboxylic acid having carbon atoms of 2 to 7, and more preferably at least one acid selected from the group consisting of acetic, lactic, tartaric, citric, malic, benzoic and salicylic acids. Composition and device structure for iontophoresis

A patch agent of the present invention comprises a support, and an adhesive layer laid on the support and containing an adhesive base and a drug, wherein the adhesive base contains an acrylic polymer substantially having no carboxyl and no hydroxyl in molecules thereof, and a rubber-based polymer, so as to achieve sufficiently high skin permeability of the drug and preparation properties. Accordingly, the present invention enables administration of the drug through skin to be implemented with drug administration effect at a sufficiently high level and on a stable basis.

It is intended to provide an interface for a transdermal drug administration device that can supply a drug almost evenly and favorably from a plurality of projections through skin. This interface for a transdermal drug administration device has a flat plate. The flat platecomprises a plurality of two-dimensionally arranged conical or pyramidal projectionscapable of piercing skin and a plurality of openingscapable of delivering a drug which are respectively arranged in correspondence with the projections. The openingsare respectively arranged in proximity to their corresponding projections. The flat platecan be made of a metal or ceramics. The ratio between the number of the openings and the number of the projections can be 1:1 to 1:2.

Interface for transdermal drug administration device

Patch with improved anchoring properties between a substrate and an adhesive

A transdermal patch for external use having a backing layer and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on one surface of the backing layer, which contains polyisobutylene, a mineral oil and fentanyl employed as the active ingredient in the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and in which the contents of polyisobutylene and fentanyl in the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer respectively range from 75.2 to 94.2% by mass and 1 to 6% by mass while the content of the mineral oil is from 0.25 to 0.05 parts by mass based on polyisobutylene. This patch can be easily produced, has a long-lasting effect and is excellent in adhesion to the skin and tolerability against movement to the body parts.
