A method, carried out by a private mobile wireless terminal, is described. The private mobile wireless terminal comprises a subscriber identification module applet, for persisting a connectivity preference for a home mobile wireless network that is a private mobile wireless network. The private mobile wireless terminal operates in a mobile wireless environment comprising a primarily mobile network provider including a sponsored roaming application server (SRAS). After losing the connection to the private mobile wireless network and connecting to an alternative mobile network, further operations are carried out to restore a persisted connectivity preference for connecting to the private mobile wireless network after service is restored following a service outage of the private mobile wireless network.

A system and method carried out over a mobile wireless network are described for performing beam pair (BP) and end-to-end (E2E) network slice selection for supporting an invoked service on a mobile equipment (ME). The method includes establishing an initial BP with a radio access network (RAN) node, using an available link policy, enabling communicating a request to the RAN node including an indication of a desired service level for a service invoked on the ME. The method further includes updating, in accordance with the indication of a desired service level, a link policy and an E2E slice policy by performing a reinforcement learning, wherein the link policy is used to select a BP for the ME for a given ME mobility pattern, and wherein the E2E network slice policy is used to select an E2E network slice for the desired service level for the service invoked on the ME.

A network automation system platform is described herein for carrying out a method for automated multi-node performance validation testing on a communications network. The method includes acquiring a test configuration for executing a multi-node performance validation test, wherein the test configuration identifies: a multi-node network performance test, carried out by an application layer, that specifies a technology-independent test script that is generic to particular technologies for providing performance validation-related services, and a node group upon which the multi-node network performance test is to be performed. The method further includes executing the multi-node network performance validation test by the application layer issuing requests to a core layer comprising a set of technology-specific services that issue, in accordance with the application layer requests, technology-specific commands to external services during performance validation of nodes within the node group.

A system and method are described that are carried out by a mobility management component for providing enhanced short message service (SMS) memory handling in the absence of a user equipment (UE) signaling capability to indicate that an SMS memory is available after the UE issues a signal indicating an SMS memory unavailable error condition to the mobility management component. The method includes receiving the signal indicating an SMS memory unavailable error condition from the UE. In accordance with receiving the signal, an SMS memory error condition timer is set for the UE and issues an SMS memory failure message to temporarily cause suspension of sending SMS messages, via a short message service center (SMSC), to the UE. In response to expiration of a time period after the setting the SMS memory error condition timer, the mobility management component issues an SMS memory available message to resume SMS message delivery to the UE.

A system and method are described that are carried out by a core network element of a host mobile carrier core network to perform an access point name resolution to facilitate establishing a session between a user equipment and a target packet gateway (PGW) of a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). The method includes receiving a connection request from a user equipment identified as falling within particular ranges of mobile subscriber identity number (MSIN) values corresponding to user equipment of hosted MVNOs. The connection request includes: an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI), and an access point name (APN). The method further includes establishing an MVNO identifier from the provided IMSI and thereafter generating an MVNO-specific APN by appending the MVNO identifier to the APN. The method further includes submitting a name resolution request including the MVNO-specific APN to a naming service server.

An affective computing server (ACS) is described herein that is incorporated into a mobile wireless network management infrastructure. The ACS is configured to carry out a method over a mobile wireless network for maintaining a comfort status of a user of a wearable device. The ACS registers the wearable device associated with the user. The ACS receives, via a mobile wireless technology link, a user comfort status profile (UCSP) message issued by the wearable device, where the UCSP message includes at least a parameter value indicative of the comfort status of the user. The ACS processes the UCSP message to render a comfort control request based upon the UCSP. The ACS causes a sending of the comfort control request over a mobile wireless technology to an actuator (e.g. a heating/air conditioning system) for affecting a change in the comfort status of the user of the wearable device.

A method and cell broadcast center (CBC) system are described for issuing an emergency alert message containing at least one hyperlink corresponding to content stored on a web server. The operations performed by the CBC include receiving an emergency alert message. The emergency alert message includes a hyperlink to web content. The CBC processes the emergency alert message by: issuing a request to a web server for a content corresponding to the hyperlink, and issuing an emergency broadcast request to carrier networks. The emergency broadcast request includes both: the emergency alert message, and the content corresponding to the hyperlink. The issuing the emergency broadcast request, causes delivery of the content corresponding to the hyperlink to a browser cache on a user equipment without user selection of the hyperlink on the user equipment.

In one embodiment, the method includes examining an identity of an access network associated with the user device and an identity of the service requested to determine whether the service is supported; authorizing resources in the access network required by the service if the service is supported; rejecting the service if the service is not supported and if a policy associated with the access network requires unsupported services to be rejected; and authorizing a default level of resources in the access network if the service is not supported and if the policy associated with the access network does not require unsupported services to be rejected.
