In an in-tank valve, a detector including a detecting sensor is disposed on an end of a body, and the detecting sensor is accommodated inside a sensor housing. Within the sensor housing, a sensor retaining member is formed in an interior part of an opened sensor accommodating section, and the detecting sensor is disposed therein so as to face toward a first communication hole of the sensor retaining member. Lead wires, which are connected to the detecting sensor, are led out to the exterior in a bending fashion from a wiring port, whereby entry of hydrogen gas to the side of the detecting sensor is prevented by suitably closing the wiring port.

In-tank valve

A fuel cell power plant provided in a vehicle includes a power plant unit, a frame including a front part of the vehicle, and an impact cushioning member having a protective space therein and surrounding the power plant unit. The power plant unit includes a fuel cell stack, a hydrogen supply device to supply hydrogen to the fuel cell stack to generate electric power, and a high-voltage device to receive and manage the electric power generated. A gap is provided between the power plant unit and the impact cushioning member so that the power plant unit moves in a case where a collision load is applied from an outside of the vehicle.

Fuel cell power plant provided in vehicle

A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell having an anode and a cathode; an oxidant gas flowpath supplying the oxidant gas to the fuel cell and discharging the oxidant gas from the fuel cell; a first shut-off valve disposed upstream from the fuel cell and having a first valve body; a second shut-off valve disposed downstream from the fuel cell and having a second valve body; a cathode control unit for sealing the cathode; and a scavenging unit for scavenging the anode by supplying the oxidant gas to the anode, wherein the cathode control unit, before scavenging the anode by using the scavenging unit, unseals the cathode by opening the first shut-off valve and the second shut-off valve. The fuel cell system is capable of preventing the valve bodies pressed against seat sections from being frozen even below the freezing temperature, and capable of avoiding a situation unable to restart a turned-off state of the fuel cell system.

Counter-freeze control method for fuel cell system

A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell; a normally-closed first shut-off valve provided upstream from the fuel cell and opening and closing pipes cand allowing air supplied from an air pump to pass therethrough; a normally-closed second shut-off valve opening and closing a pipe allowing cathode off-gas, discharged from the fuel cell, to pass therethrough; a valve-driving section for opening and closing discs of the shut-off valves; and valve lock units maintaining discs of the shut-off valves in open state when the cathode is released by opening the first shut-off valve and the second shut-off valve during electro-chemical reaction progressing in the fuel cell. This structure provides a simple and small-size fuel cell system capable of maintaining opening state of shut-off valves stably and reliably.

Fuel cell system

When a stepping motor is de-energized, a valve shaft is turned in a direction to open a valve body under the resilient forces stored in a fully opening spring through a receptacle and a driven plate. At this time, a drive plate is turned in unison with the driven plate. When the valve body reaches a fully open position, a positioning finger on the drive plate abuts against a stopper pin, thus stopping the turning movement of the drive plate.

Pressure regulator for fuel cell

A solenoid-operated valve for use with fuel cells has a valve housing made of aluminum, for example and having first through third heating medium passages defined therein. A valve seat disposed in and fastened to the valve housing is made of stainless steel, for example. A valve head has a disk which can be seated on and unseated off a valve seat member of a valve seat. The valve head is coupled by threaded surfaces to the distal end of a movable member which is displaceable when a solenoid is energized. The movable member is made of a magnetic metallic material, and the valve head is made of a corrosion-resistant metallic material such as stainless steel or the like, for example.

Solenoid-operated valve for use with fuel cells

A fuel cell automobile is provided with a fuel cell and an integral module including a drive module, a compression module, and an intercooler. At least one portion of the integral module is mounted to a body of the automobile by way of a mount. Further, a compressed air cooled using the intercooler is supplied to the fuel cell by way of a pipe at least portion of which is made of a resilient member.
