An automatic sewing system includes an embroidery machine and a personal computer. The embroidery machine has an operation panel provided with a LCD, a stitch type display key and a stitch type selecting key, and a sewing control device provided with a stitch type data memory and a stitch data memory. The personal computer has a floppy disc drive unit capable of receiving a floppy disc which stores stitch data and stitch type data. The stitch type data are sent to the sewing control device from the personal computer and stored in the stitch type data memory when the stitch type display key is operated. The LCD displays thereon a stitch type based on the stitch type data stored in the stitch type data memory. The stitch data related to the displayed stitch type are sent to the sewing control device from the personal computer and stored in the stitch data memory when the stitch type selecting key is operated. The embroidery machine forms a stitch pattern on a work fabric based on the stitch data stored in the stitch data memory.

Automatic sewing system capable of transferring stitch data

An apparatus for preparing stitch position-related data utilized by an embroidery sewing machine for embroidering a predetermined area by forming stitches at respective stitch positions and filling the area with the formed stitches, including a dividing device for dividing the area into a plurality of sub-areas based on outline data representative of an outline of the area, the outline data including sets of position data each of which is representative of a corresponding one of a plurality of specific positions specified on the outline, and a data producing device for producing sets of sub-area data each of which is representative of an outline of a corresponding one of the sub-areas and determining, based on the sets of sub-area data, an order of embroidering of the sub-areas such that, when the embroidery sewing machine forms stitches with a continuous thread and fills each of the sub-areas by the formed stitches, by utilizing the sets of sub-area data and the order of embroidery of the sub-areas, the continuous thread does not pass over the stitches filling the each sub-area, the data producing device using the sets of sub-area data and the order of embroidering of the sub-areas for producing the stitch position-related data.

Embroidery data preparing apparatus

An embroidery data processing system controls an automatic sewing machine to produce an embroidery design having a blurred side or blurred boundary line between adjacent blocks which make up the embroidery design. The embroidery data processing system includes a first memory storage area for storing side information indicating sides of each of the blocks, a second memory storage area for storing thread density information indicating the thread density of stitches to be formed in said each block, a third memory stoage area for storing in/out patterns indicating how stitching points are to be displaced with respect to the sides of a selected one of the blocks, which are indicated by the side information, and a controller for calculating stitching points depending on the thread density information along the sides of the selected block according to the in/out patterns, and for calculating stitching points depending on the thread density information along the sides of another block than the selected block, which are indicated by the side information. The third memory storage area may store in/out patterns indicating how stitching points are to be displaced with respect to the sides of said each block which are indicated by the side information, and the controller may calculate stitching points depending on the thread density information along the side of said each block according to the in/out patterns.

Embroidery data processing system for automatic sewing machine

Desired individual letter codes indicative of letter to be stitched on a piece of cloth by a sewing machine are selected and entered in relation to the character stitching sequence through a keyboard. Then, character identification codes are constructed according to a predetermined stitching sequence based on the entered individual letter codes and stored outer profiles. Stitch pattern data corresponding to the constructed character identification codes are read out from a memory, and used to control the sewing machine to produce the desired letters having different outer profiles.
