An improved, tough, opaque laminate structure, particularly useful for incorporation into packaging for light-sensitive photographic products. The laminate comprises a polyisobutylene-modified, high-density polyethylene layer which is sandwiched between two layers of linear low density or linear medium density polyethylene.

Opaque laminate sheet structure

This relates to a hot runner manifold for distributing thermoplastic melts from a plasticizer to plural cavities of a mold. The manifold is formed in two parts which include a plate and a ring which are joined along a central parting line in a manner wherein all of the sprue and runner portions may be readily and accurately machined. The ring is shrunk in place on the plate and has an interference fit which is sufficient to prevent separation of the ring from the plate during normal operating conditions without the use of any fasteners. Distribution from a primary sprue into the plural runners is made efficient by providing a distributor plug which is aligned with the primary sprue and forms elbows between the primary sprue and a first runner which is of the same cross section as the runners and which provides for a smooth and even transition between the primary sprue and the runners.

Hot runner manifold flow distributor plug

This relates to a hot runner manifold for distributing thermoplastic melts from a plasticizer to plural cavities of a mold. Two-piece hot runner manifold

This relates to an injection mold assembly wherein there is a plurality of cavities which are spaced from a center of the mold assembly and wherein each cavity has therein a core so that a thin wall article, such as a preform for a blow molded bottle, may be accurately formed by injection molding. Previously experienced differential in temperature and thus expansion differentials causing core-cavity misalignment are overcome in accordance with this invention by supplying the core retainer plate, which is normally cooler than the cavity retainer plate, with a heater for elevating the temperature thereof as required.
