In embodiments of objects alignment and distribution layout, an object layout interface includes objects displayed for selection and manipulation. A layout algorithm receives a reposition input for a selected object in the object layout interface, and determines a distribution layout and/or an alignment layout of the objects. The layout algorithm positions the selected object equidistant between at least two of the objects or at a distance from a closest one of the objects, the distance being an equivalent distance of a space between the at least two objects. The space between the objects is displayed as positive space that visually indicates the equidistance between the objects. Alternatively or in addition, the layout algorithm positions the selected object in alignment with multiple objects, and an alignment indication, such as an edge line and/or a distance measurement, is displayed for each instance of the selected object being aligned with the multiple objects.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed at providing a mirror snapping system for selecting candidate snap points as endpoints for path segments with symmetry in a created image. In one embodiment, generating candidate snap locations from a newly created path segment can be accomplished by automatically constructing an axis of symmetry for the newly created path segment and reflecting created path segment endpoints in the design across the axis of symmetry. In a further embodiment, upon selection of a candidate snap location as the anchored endpoint for an unanchored endpoint of a path segment, line parameters associated with the candidate snap location can be implemented in the path segment. Such parameters can include weight, color, and curvature of the path segment. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

A tool is provided via a user interface for a digital media application that supports digital illustrations. The tool combines operations to create different types of segments for a drawing shape and covert between types of segments. The tool is configured to analyze the drawing to recognize segments that are straight, arc, or curved portions of the drawing path. For segments recognized as curved, the segments are represented as Bezier curve segments. For segments recognized as straight, the segments are represented as line segments. Additionally, line segments are associated with handle elements operable to convert the line segments to regular arc segments. Responsive to manipulation of a handle element for a particular line segment, the tool computes a corresponding regular arc and converts the line segment into a regular arc segment.

Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods, and computer storage media directed to facilitating object set replication. In embodiments described herein, a repeatable object set can be generated. Such a repeatable object set can include one or more objects and a field format indicating a position of the object(s) within a field. The generated repeatable object set can be replicated as replicated object sets into a set of fields within a layout structure, wherein each of the replicated object sets includes a representation of the object(s) placed within a corresponding field in accordance with the field format indicating the position of the one or more objects. The replicated object sets within the set of fields the layout structure can then be presented.

In one example, the system generates transition timeline data for state transitions in the user interface and filters the transition timeline data as a function of a state of the user interface to generate a filtered list of transitions for display of a transition timeline. The filtering is a function of a state of the user interface.

Automatic detection and implementation of modifications to an application are described. A new base model of the application is generated using the edited version of the application. This base model is simulated to a selected state, resulting in a new presentation model that includes a tree of multiple objects described by the new base model at the selected state, and a pointer for each node of the tree that points back to the associated node in the new base model. The pointers of each node of the new presentation model are compared to the nodes of the previous presentation model of the application and then replaced with those corresponding nodes in the previous presentation model when the nodes are equivalent. Otherwise, the nodes of the new presentation model are maintained.

The disclosed methods and systems provide a computer content creation application that allows movement and use of components between editing contexts. Different editing contexts may result where the content utilizes instances of one or more components that are defined outside the outer context in which the instances are used. In another example, different editing contexts result where components are, for one reason or another, stored in separate locations. Embodiments disclosed herein further facilitate developing and using of multi-editing context computer content by providing techniques for organizing parts of content according to content editing context. Other embodiments organize such parts based on the particular editing and use functionality available in a current editing context. Certain embodiments simplify and facilitate a user's ability to move components from an outer or general context into another context, such as into a particular component's instance definition.

Systems and methods for creating computer content using multiple editing contexts

A development application can be configured to facilitate editing multiple fragments already associated with an interface design simultaneously using a graphic design application, with the fragments arranged in a logical form supported by the graphic design application. The logical form of the artwork fragments as provided to the graphic design application can correspond to the relationship between different elements of the interface design using the respective fragments. Fragments may correspond to different components, parts of components, and part states, for instance. A method can comprise accessing data defining an interface component and comprising a plurality of logically arranged elements of the component. The method can comprise extracting the artwork and arranging the artwork into a form compatible with a graphic design application. The artwork can be edited in a graphic design application and then re-integrated into the data defining the design elements of the interface after editing is complete.
