A system comprises a radio receiver including an antenna, tunable RF notch filters that receive a desired RF signal and reject an interference signal, a LNA, a splitter, and a processor. A received RF signal is divided by the splitter and directed along a main signal path and an interference detection path. The interference detection path comprises a mixer that converts the received RF signal to an IF band, a synthesizer, and a SAW filter in communication with the mixer. The SAW filter rejects any IF signal generated due to a desired received RF signal and improves an accuracy/resolution of a detected interference frequency. The processor estimates the interference frequency based on a detected amplitude of signal samples and a synthesizer tuned frequency for that amplitude. If the detected amplitude is more than a threshold, then a control signal is sent to configure the notch filters at the interference frequency.

Interference detection and rejection in a communication/navigation narrowband and wideband radio

A wideband power amplifier is presented. The wideband power amplifier configured to be coupled to a load having an impedance Z, where the wideband power amplifier comprises: a quadrature coupler; a carrier amplifier coupled to the quadrature coupler; a peak amplifier coupled to the quadrature coupler; wherein the carrier amplifier saturates at an input power level lower than the input power level at which the peak amplifier saturates; wherein each of the carrier amplifier and the peak amplifier has a termination impedance of approximately R, where Ris the optimum impedance at which the carrier amplifier and the peak amplifier will deliver rated max powers; a impedance transformer, coupled to the carrier amplifier having a characteristic impedance of 2*R; an impedance transformer, coupled to the peak amplifier and the impedance transformer; wherein the impedance transformer is configured transform a load impedance Zto 2*R.

Wide band Doherty power amplifier

A tracking system comprising: a radio frequency (RF) signal circulator; an iridium modem coupled to first port of the circulator; an antenna coupled to second port of the circulator, wherein the circulator passes a signal transmitted by the modem to the antenna when the switch is switched to a first mode; a low noise amplifier (LNA) coupled to third port of the circulator, wherein the circulator passes RF signals received from the antenna to the LNA; a diplexer coupled to an output of the LNA; a GNSS receiver coupled to a first output of the diplexer through a GNSS filter; an iridium filter coupled to a second output of the diplexer; wherein the switch couples the iridium filter to the modem when the iridium modem is in a receiving mode, and wherein the switch couples the modem to the first port when the modem is in a transmitting mode.

Architecture for single radio frequency feed for GNSS receiver and iridium modem

A hybrid diplexer-circulator system including a circulator and a modified-diplexer is provided. The circulator includes a first circulator-port, a second circulator-port coupled to a first chain comprising a receiver module, and a third circulator-port coupled to a second chain comprising a satellite modem. The first chain receives first-frequency signals and reflects second-frequency signals. The second chain receives the second-frequency signals reflected from the first chain and transmits third-frequency signals. The modified-diplexer includes: a first diplexer-port of the modified-diplexer, which is shared as the first circulator-port; a second diplexer-port; and third diplexer-port in the second chain. The second diplexer port inputs the first-frequency signals from a filter in the first chain. The third diplexer-port: inputs the second-frequency signals reflected by the first chain; outputs the second-frequency signals to be received by the satellite modem; inputs third-frequency signals transmitted by the satellite modem; and outputs the third-frequency signals to the third circulator-port.

Hybrid diplexer and circulator frontend for GPS receiver and satcom modem sharing common antenna

A torque measurement system that includes a rotor device and a stator device can perform automatic tuning to improve the initial tuning performed during design and assembly. The stator device can include a variable capacitive element and a micro-controller configured to adjust a capacitance value of the variable capacitive element. Additionally or alternatively, the rotor device can include a variable capacitive element and a micro-controller configured to adjust a capacitance value of the variable capacitive element. The adjustment of the capacitive elements can be based on the quality of signal detected at either the rotor device or stator device.
