A hollow fibrous conduit for promoting regeneration of a severed nerve, comprising a first end for coapting the conduit to a first end of a severed nerve and second end for coapting the conduit to a second end of the severed nerve, the hollow fibrous conduit comprising chitosan-poly(caprolactone) fibers. Nanofibrous conduits for nerve regeneration

The present invention provides compositions comprising an interpolymer of chitosan and polyethylene glycol, wherein the interpolymer is a liquid below 25&#xb0; C. and a gel above 35&#xb0; C. The present invention also provides methods for using the compositions to deliver drugs to a living body over time.
