An exposure apparatus and method in which an image is formed on a recording medium mounted on a recording stage by irradiating a light beam based on image data from a recording head while the recording head and the recording stage are relatively moved, in the exposure apparatus and method, storing in advance, in a storage section, shift-amount data of a detected displacement of an image-form position with respect to a stage surface of the recording stage in a direction intersecting a direction in which the recording stage moves, which displacement occurs accompanied by movement of the recording stage; carrying out shifting for each of pixels of an image formed by the image data based on the shift-amount data stored in the storage section; and controlling exposure for the recording medium based on image data of the shifted image, is provided to reduce distortion of the image.

Exposure apparatus and exposure method

By selecting a template, a crop boundary () is displayed on an image on a screen. The crop boundary has a corresponding shape to that of a frame of the selected template, and is variable in size while keeping the same shape and being centered on a reference point (). Upper and lower horizontal lines () are also displayed inside the crop boundary to define an internal zone (), and the center point on the upper horizontal line is defined as the reference point. By placing the reference point on the top of the head of a human subject contained in the displayed image and then moving the lower horizontal line to align it with the chin, the internal zone is adjusted to the head of the human subject. In cooperation with the movement of the lower reference line, the crop boundary is automatically enlarged or reduced so as to keep the internal zone in a predetermined proportion and position relative to the crop boundary.

Image cropping and synthesizing method, and imaging apparatus

Image signals picked up from a reflective original through a reflective scanner () are sent to a moir&#xe9; processing section () for eliminating moir&#xe9; from the image signals. The moir&#xe9; processing section () is provided with a first filter () and a second filter () that eliminates moir&#xe9; more than the first filter. The first filter reduces high spatial frequency components of the image and also raises middle spatial frequency components of the image. A selector is provided for selecting the first filter when the original contains characters and grayscale images, or the second filter when the original mainly contains grayscale images. When the original mainly contains characters, both of the first and second filters are not used.
