In one embodiment, an MRI apparatus, includes a static magnetic field magnet configured to generate a static magnetic field, a gradient coil configured to generate a gradient magnetic field, a transmission and reception coil configured to transmit an RF signal and receive a magnetic resonance signal, and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry determines whether or not a prescan for calculating a correction value that corrects a phase error is skippable or reducible based on an imaging condition of a main scan, and executes a scan including at least the main scan in accordance with a result of the determination.

MRI apparatus and a method of reducing imaging time

An MRI apparatus includes a reception gain storage part, a reception gain acquisition part, and a generation part. The reception gain storage part is configured to store reception gains of MR signals. The reception gains are related to at least one of pieces of patient information and imaging conditions. The reception gain acquisition part is configured to obtain a corresponding reception gain from the reception gain storage part, based on at least one of a piece of patient information and an imaging condition of an object. The piece of the patient information and the imaging condition have been specified for an imaging of the object. The generation part is configured to receive MR signals of the object with an amplification with the reception gain obtained by the reception gain acquisition part, and generate image data based on the received MR signals.

Magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and magnetic resonance imaging method

A magnetic resonance imaging system is provided for obtaining MR images by scanning a region of the object previously located on an object's positioning image. The system comprises a displaying unit, inputting unit, approximating unit, and locating unit. The displaying unit displays a plurality of tomographic images of the object as the positioning image, each of the tomographic images including an indication of a target of interest thereon. The inputting unit enables information about a running state of the target in a direction along the target to be supplied toward each of the tomographic images. The approximating unit calculates three-dimensionally an approximated curve indicating the running state of the target in the direction on the basis of the supplied information about the running state. The locating unit locates the region substantially perpendicular to the approximated curve.

Magnetic resonance imaging using technique of positioning multi-slabs to be imaged

Monitor scans are performed before imaging scans with respect to a patient injected with a contrast agent. Magnetic resonance images of a plurality of slices of the patient are acquired, usually continuously, in the monitor scans. Projection images are generated from the magnetic resonance images for the plurality of slices, and these projection images are dynamically displayed images. The operator observes the monitor image and issues an instruction for imaging scans. Since a projection image is displayed as the monitor image, then even if a blood vessel is distributed over a three-dimensional area, the operator is still able to ascertain accurately the timing at which the contrast agent reaches the diagnostic region.
