Provided is a board-to-board connector including a housing having a protrusion, one or more signal terminals held on the housing such that a contact portion is exposed to the side of the protrusion, a high-frequency signal terminal arranged outside an end portion of the protrusion, and a shell surrounding an outer peripheral portion of the housing and made of a conductive metal material. In the board-to-board connector, the shell integrally includes a GND terminal portion having a plate-shaped board-side shielding portion arranged on a bottom portion outside the end portion of the protrusion and a plate-shaped GND terminal body standing on the protrusion-side end of the board-side shielding portion and arranged closer to the protrusion with respect to the high-frequency signal terminal, and a high-frequency signal terminal housing hole in which the high-frequency signal terminal is arranged is formed in the board-side shielding portion.

There are provided a connector having excellent transmission characteristics, and a method for manufacturing such a connector, by which a connector can be manufactured more easily than in the conventional techniques, and thus its manufacturing cost can be reduced. A conductor base member including central terminal portions to form signal terminals, a grounded conductor portion to form a grounded conductor, connecting portions for connecting between the central terminal portions and the grounded conductor portion so as to integrate them together is integrally formed with an electrically conductive material. Then, the conductor base member is integrally fixed to the housing, and the connecting portions are cut to configure the central terminal portions as the central terminals and configure the grounded conductor portion as the grounded conductor, thereby obtaining a plug.

Electric connector

An electrical connector can have improved productivity, as well as a reduced size and thickness. The electrical connector includes an insulating housing including a plate-like portion and a main body portion provided at the rear of the plate-like portion so as to protrude laterally relative to the plate-like portion; a conductive contact held by the housing, the contact including connection portions exposed at the plate-like portion so as to be connected to a mating contact of a mating connector and terminal portions protruding from the main body portion; and an elastically deformable seal member provided in the main body portion.

An electrical connector includes an insulating housing; a conductive contact held by the housing, the conductive contact including connection portions exposed on a front side of the housing to be connected to a mating contact of a mating connector and terminal portions protruding from the housing; a cylindrical shell configured to contain the housing, the cylindrical shell including a front shell member and a rear shell member, the front shell member having a fitting portion open forward into which the mating connector is insertable, the rear shell member being provided at the rear of the front shell member so as to protrude the terminal portions therefrom, the rear shell member having a smaller diameter than the front shell member; and an elastically deformable seal member configured to be provided on an outer periphery of the rear shell member.

An electrical connector includes an insulating main housing including a main body portion that has a holding hole open rearward and a plate-shaped fitting portion that protrudes forward from the main body portion and fits to a mating connector; a shield member that covers the main housing; an insulating sub housing that is arranged in the holding hole; and a plurality of conductive terminals that include connection portions arranged on the fitting portion and terminal portions protruding from the holding hole, and are held by the sub housing. The sub housing includes a first sub housing that is inserted into the holding hole from behind in a state of holding a part of the plurality of terminals, and a second sub housing that is inserted into the holding hole from behind in a state of holding the terminals other than the part of the plurality of terminals.

Electrical connector having simplified manufacturing processes

An electrical connector includes: a cylindrical metal shell having a mating portion extended from the front end to the rear end; and an inner sealing member that is brought into contact with a housing and the metal shell and hermetically seals between the housing and the metal shell. The mating portion is sealed by an outer peripheral joint and an inner peripheral joint so as to prevent the flow of a liquid from the front end side to the rear end side. Here, the outer peripheral joint is formed to some midpoint from the outer peripheral surface of the metal shell toward the inner peripheral surface of the metal shell, and the inner peripheral joint is formed from the inner peripheral surface to the outer peripheral joint on the contact portion with the inner sealing member.
