A pipe coupling comprises a socket and a plug having front end portions engagable with each other. This socket comprises a plurality of lock balls movable to lock positions where the lock balls partially project into an axial bore of the socket body, and a sleeve for holding the lock balls at the lock position. The socket body has a plurality of engage holes elongated in the axial direction. The sleeve is rotatable on the socket body and has a press portion for pressing the lock balls toward the lock positions, a press release recessed portion circumferentially is adjacent to the press portion for retracting the lock balls from the lock positions, and a large diameter portion. The pipe coupling further comprises sleeve-rotation-restricting convex and recessed portions which restrict the rotation of the sleeve relative to the socket body, to an angle range between a press position where the press portions oppose the lock balls and a release position where the press release recessed portions opposed to the lock balls, a collar movable in the large diameter portion, and a spring for urging the sleeve toward the press position and the collar toward the front end.

Pipe coupling

A pipe connector comprises a plug having a groove on the outer periphery of the distal end portion thereof, a socket having an axial hole to receive the distal end portion of the plug and a radial hole, a sealing member attached to the socket and sealing the plug and the socket, a lever pivotally mounted on the socket adjacent the radial hole and having a cam engagable with the groove through the radial hole, the lever being movable to a connected position, a half-connected position and a separated position. The cam is engaged with the groove and the sealing member is pressed, while the lever remains in the connected position, the cam is partly engaged with the groove and the sealing member is free from pressure, while the lever remains in the half-connected position, and the cam is disengaged from the groove, allowing the plug and the socket to move relative to each other, while the lever remains in the separated position. The pipe connector further comprises a locking mechanism for preventing the lever from moving with respect to the socket when the lever is in the connected and half-connected position.

Pipe connector

A coupling disposed in a pneumatic hammer and for removably connecting a spray can to a plug body for connecting a fluid conduit is provided. The coupling is provided with a socket body having a first end portion, a second end portion and an axial hole open in the first and second end portions, a locking mechanism provided in the first end portion end of the socket body and releasably locking and engaging with the plug body, and a mounting member attached to the second end portion of the socket body in such a manner as to freely slide to an axial direction. The mounting member attaches the socket body to the spray can in a removable manner. Further, the coupling is provided with a pressing portion axially projecting from the second end portion of the socket body, the pressing portion being brought into contact with the front end portion of the nozzle when the spray can is axially pressed toward the second end portion of the socket body, thereby pressing the nozzle to the container portion end of the spray can.

A joint for connecting a corrugated pipe to another member includes a cylindrical body having an annular step portion formed in its inner part and adapted to be brought into contact with a front end of a corrugated pipe; a chuck having an annular body which includes a forward end part of an inner diameter substantially equal to or slightly smaller than an outer diameter of the corrugated pipe and which exhibits elasticity by which the chuck can contract and expand in radially inner and outer directions, an engaging portion formed on an inner periphery of its forward end part for engaging an outer periphery of the corrugated pipe, and a locking portion formed on an inner periphery of its rearward end part, the chuck being engaged with the outer periphery of the corrugated pipe in the cylindrical body so as to be capable of moving the corrugated pipe into the cylindrical body integrally with the chuck; and a push cylinder having a counterpart locking portion formed on an outer periphery of its forward end part and adapted to be locked to the locking portion formed on the rearward end part of the chuck, the push cylinder being slidably fitted to an inner periphery of an end portion of the cylindrical body, the push cylinder being for pushing the chuck into the cylindrical body when the push cylinder is advanced.

A coupling socket includes a main cylindrical body and a locking member. The main cylindrical body has a hole extending along its longitudinal axis and a rectangular hole formed on its plug-inserted portion and directed perpendicular to its hole. The locking member includes locking parts provided with ring-shaped pieces engageable with a locking groove on a plug. A plug hole is formed between the locking parts when one of the ring-shaped pieces is placed on the other. The plug hole is made wide when the locking parts approach each other and narrow when they separate from each other. The locking member is fitted into the rectangular hole of the main cylindrical body in such a way that the plug hole is aligned with the hole and that the locking parts is controlled from outside of the main cylindrical body to come close to and separated from each other. Springs are interposed between the main cylindrical body and the locking member to urge the locking parts to apart from each other.

A fluid pipe coupling comprises a plug and a socket, at least one of which includes a cylindrical body member having an end portion adapted to engage the other and a caulking end portion, and an adapter member having a connector end portion adapted to be connected with a pipe member and a caulking end portion. One of the caulking end portions has a cylindrical caulking portion, while the other has a cylindrical caulking receiving portion adapted to engage the caulking portion. The caulking receiving portion has a plurality of annular grooves and annular projections therebetween on the peripheral surface thereof. The caulking portion and the caulking receiving portion engage each other with a seal member interposed therebetween. These two portions are caulked so that the cylindrical body member and the adapter member are coupled integrally with each other.

A pipe coupling comprising a cylindrical body having a fluid passage and a valve for opening and closing the fluid passage, in which the valve has a head portion and a cylinder portion, both made of chemicals-resistant polymers, and the cylinder portion has a plurality of holes penetrating the cylinder wall in the diametrical directions, the holes being formed alternately in the positions shifted in the circumferential direction and the axial direction of the cylinder portion, resulting in that the cylinder portion has elasticity in the axial direction.

A forging method comprises the following four steps: a first step of disposing a columnar material into a first die and extruding one end portion of the material with a first punch in a direction opposite to the advancing direction of the first punch, a second step of deepending a first blind hole in a second stepped die with a cavity having large and small internal diameter portions, and extruding the other end portion of the material into the inside of the small internal diameter portion of the cavity with a second punch which has been previously extended thereinto, a third step of fitting the first and second blind holes to third punches while exposing the small outer diameter portion from a third die and pressurizing, by means of a sleeve, only an end face portion of the small outer diameter portion formed with the second blind hole to expand the small outer diameter portion of the material toward an outer periphery, and a fourth step of punching out a blind portion of the material.

A tube coupling having a socket and a plug, each having a fluid flow passage extending therethrough, and a valve mounted in the flow passage of at least one of the socket and plug for axial movement between a first position for closing the flow passage and a second position for opening the flow passage said valve being normally biased towards the first position by a spring when the socket and plug are disconnected, and moved to the second position when the socket and plug are coupled together, characterized in that at least those portions of the socket and plug which will be exposed to fluid during the use are formed of fluorocarbon resin, the spring being disposed in said flow passage and comprising bellows made of fluorocarbon resin having continuous helically extending pleats.
