An electronic component mounting apparatus which employs a first air feed device connected to an air passage at one end part of a spline shaft, and a second air feed device connected to the air passage in the vicinity of the other end of the spline shaft. The first and second air feeds function to supply air to the air passage to return an interior thereof to atmospheric pressure. The time required to return the vacuum pressure in the air passage to atmospheric pressure can be shortened by the use of the two separate air feeds.

Apparatus for holding and mounting a component

A calibration jig for a component recognition device and a component recognition calibration method using the jig which can stabilize the mounting accuracy of a component to a to-be-mounted object and improve amount quality. An opening is formed at a to-be-picked up face of the calibration jig. A predetermined position of the calibration jig is recognized on the basis of the contrast between the picked-up face and the opening. The position of the calibration jig can be recognized with higher accuracy, so that a resolution of the component recognition device, etc. can be obtained with a higher degree of accuracy. Mount accuracy of the component to the object is thus stabilized and mount quality is improved.

Electric component placement machine

The present invention includes a component placement apparatus that can obtain information on the presence/absence of hold members inexpensively and easily, and a component placement method carried out by the component placement apparatus. A replacement hold member detector for detecting the presence/absence of replacement hold members at a hold member change part is installed at a placement head. The presence/absence is detected by moving an XY-robot so as to scan the hold member change part equipped with the replacement hold member detector. At the same time, type information attached to the replacement hold members is rendered readable by the replacement hold member detector. One replacement hold member detector is enough according to the apparatus and method of the present invention. The presence/absence information of the hold members can be obtained inexpensively and easily.

Part mounting apparatus and part supply apparatus

A method of preventing a nozzle or nozzles from dropping in a component mounting apparatus include gripping the nozzle structures with pivotal levers that are biased to a closed position. The pivotal levers are released after activation of the nozzles to permit appropriate movement for picking up, inspecting, orientating and locating electronic components on a substrate with the nozzles. During the operation of the mounting head, the levers are maintained in a release position against a biasing force and at the end of the operation, the biasing force can then cause the levers to close and support the nozzles in a gripping manner.

Method of preventing a nozzle drop in a component mounting apparatus

According to the present invention, a control device and a circuit board moving device controlled in operation by the control device for holding a circuit board are provided, whereby the circuit board moving device is moved to bring a component mount position on the circuit board closest to a recognition device after the circuit board moving device is moved to bring the component mount position closest to a component feed position. In the state, a circuit board mark formed on the circuit board is detected, thereby recognizing a position of the circuit board. A transfer distance for the component by a component hold device from the recognition device to the component mount position is thus shortened, enabling high-speed mounting with higher accuracy.

Method and apparatus for mounting electronic components

A mounting head is provided with a pair of first levers which are pivotally connected so that the first levers can swing in an open and close direction and forced in the close direction by a compression spring so as to grip a shaft, a release pin for opening the first levers by engaging release grooves at an open/close end of the first levers, a second lever for driving the release pin toward the open/close end of the first levers by a driving means, and a spring for forcing the second lever in a direction opposite to the driving direction of the release pin. During an operation of the mounting head, the first levers are opened by driving the release pin with the second lever, only after the shaft is activated, and at the end of the operation releasing the drive of the release pin by the second lever, allowing the first levers to close and support the shaft in a gripping manner.

A transmission mechanism includes a pressing stroke controller for changing the effective pressing stroke of each feed lever of a component feeder unit corresponding to a predetermined pitch of carrying electronic components in respective component feeder unit, whereby the vibration generated when the transmission mechanism is in operation is reduced. Adverse effects on a component feeder unit having small components thereon at a fine pitch which is susceptible to the vibration will be prevented, and the feeding speed can be increased to be more productive.

A component mounting apparatus for automatically mounting components on a circuit board includes a mounting unit for picking up a component from a component pickup location and mounting it at a mounting location. The mounting table can be driven to the pickup location and can removably secure a cassette table that can support a plurality of components that are to be mounted on the circuit board. A cassette table can be removable clamped to the mounting table. A carrier cart can transport the cassette table to a position for attachment to the mounting table. The carrier cart can be appropriately aligned and secured relative to the mounting table to enable the cassette table to be removably attached to the mounting table.
