An image forming apparatus for feeding a photosensitive recording sheet having a leader on which characteristic information for the photosensitive recording sheet, such as exposure and development characteristics, is recorded. The apparatus having the capability to read the characteristic information and mechanisms for performing exposure, development and other processes on the basis of the read-out characteristic information, the capability comprising plural rollers disposed spacedly away from one another along a sheet feeding path for feeding the photosensitive recording sheet along the sheet feeding path and a detector disposed between two rollers of the plural rollers for reading out the characteristic information on the leader.

Image forming apparatus having sheet feeding condition detecting means

A sheet storage case for storing therein a stack of sheets. The sheet storage case is assembled into a sheet feeding device which feeds out an uppermost sheet of the stack of sheets. The sheet storage case includes a bottom plate, a first positioning member fixedly secured to the bottom plate and a slidably movable second positioning member provided in the bottom plate. The second positioning member has a sheet receiving portion for receiving the stack of sheets. The second positioning member is movable toward and away from the first positioning member. To mount a stack of sheet on the sheet storage case, the second positioning member is moved away from the first positioning member, the sheets are placed on the sheet receiving portion, and then the second positioning member is moved toward the first positioning member. The side edges of the sheets are aligned, because the sheets are fittedly interposed between the two positioning members. The uppermost sheet is taken out by a mechanism which includes a suction cut which is brought to contact with the uppermost sheet to attract the latter. The suction cup to which the sheet is attracted is swung in the position above the sheet storage case to separate the uppermost sheet from the reminder.

A copying apparatus operable with an original having an image-bearing surface on which images to be reproduced are supported. A radiation reflected by the image bearing surface is focused on a photosensitive paper, by a self-focusing lens array, so that latent images corresponding to the images on the image-bearing surface are formed on the photosensitive paper. The latent images are developed into visible images by a developing device such as a device adapted to apply a pressure to the photosensitive paper. The photosensitive paper may be a self-activated type having a photosensitive material and a developer material which chemically react with each other in the developing process. Alternatively, a separate developer paper having a developer material is superposed on a photosensitive paper having only a photosensitive material. In this case, the photosensitive and developer papers are superposed on each other for development of the latent images due to the chemical reaction between the photosensitive and developer materials. After the development, the two papers are separated from each other by a separating device such as a roller separator.

Disclosed is a method of recording a picture onto a photosensitive and pressure-sensitive paper, which comprises the steps of: forming in advance a mask original form of a film having a light-transmitting portion and a non-light-transmitting portion corresponding to information of the picture; exposing the photosensitive and pressure-sensitive paper through the mask original form to thereby form a latent image on the photosensitive and pressure-sensitive paper; and pressure-fixing the photosensitive and pressure-sensitive paper carrying the latent image formed thereon. Further disclosed is an apparatus for carrying out the above method, which comprises: a mask forming means for forming a mask original form of a film having a light-transmitting portion and a non-light-transmitting portion corresponding to picture information of an original picture; an exposure means for exposing the photosensitive and pressure-sensitive paper through the mask original form formed by the mask forming means; and a pressure-fixing means for pressing the photosensitive and pressure-sensitive paper having a latent image formed by the exposure means to thereby perform pressure-development.

A photosensitive recording medium having a multiplicity of microcapsules formed on a substrate, and a developer material, each microcapsule having a photosensitive resin and a chromogenic material which reacts with the developer layer to form a colored image spot. The microcapsules comprising a plurality of microcapsule groups which are sensitive to radiations having different wavelength bands, or which are sensitive to different intensities of the radiation. An image recording system is provided with an illuminating device for generating radiations of different wavelengths falling within the wavelength bands of the microcapsule groups, or a radiation of variable intensity. The recording system has a selector for selecting at least one of the radiations of the different wavelengths, or one of the intensity levels of the radiation, in order to adjust the contrast of the images formed on the medium, with respect to non-image areas on the medium.

In a transfer-type photo-sensitive sheet including; a photo-sensitive sheet coated with plurality microcapsules, each microcapsule encapsulating chromogenic material and photo-sensitive resin, and a transfer sheet coated with developing agent which causes development reaction in contact with chromogenic material effused from the microcapsules on the photo-sensitive sheet under pressure, wherein the photo-sensitive sheet is larger than the transfer sheet in size, an improvement characterized by that the microcapsules are only coated on equal to or less than the area, superimposed on the transfer sheet, of the photo-sensitive sheet.

Transfer-type photo-sensitive sheet

Disclosed is an imaging device wherein a latent image is formed by projecting an optical image on a photo and pressure sensitive recording sheet, on which a plurality of microcapsules enveloping photo-hardenable resins and chromogenic materials therein are coated, and a visible image is developed on a transfer sheet by pressurizing the recording sheet in superposed state with the transfer sheet, the transfer sheet being coated with color-developing agents which react with the chromogenic materials to develop the visible image. The disclosed imaging device comprises an exposing unit for exposing the recording sheet, which is arranged to extend over the entire width of the recording sheet, and a pressing unit for pressing the recording sheet and the transfer sheet in superposed state.
