A master cylinder body and a die for molding the master cylinder body which is unlikely worn out by a flow of the melt and improves the life duration of the die. A rib provided from a first outlet port projected from right external peripheral surface of the master cylinder body to an end portion of a front end portion via a second outlet port is formed deviated from a line connecting a central axial lines of the first and the second outlet ports. Likewise, a rib provided from the first outlet port formed on a left external peripheral surface of the master cylinder body to the end portion of the front end portion via the second outlet port is formed deviated from the line connecting the central axial lines of the first and the second outlet ports.

Master cylinder body and die for molding master cylinder body

A master cylinder includes a cylinder housing having a rearwardly opening inner bore, a piston having a forwardly opening bore positioned in the inner bore of the cylinder housing, a spring disposed in the inner bore of the piston, a stopper supporting a front end of the spring, a retainer disposed in the inner bore of the piston and supporting a rear end of the spring, and a rod connecting the retainer and the stopper while allowing the spring to compress in the axial direction. A plurality of projection portions are formed on the outer circumferential portion of the retainer and the retainer is pressed into the inner bore of the piston via the projection portions.

Master cylinder

A vehicle braking system including a frictional braking device for applying a frictional braking torque to each of a plurality of wheels of the vehicle, a regenerative braking device including at least one electric motor for applying a regenerative braking torque to at least one drive wheel of the vehicle, and a total braking torque control device for controlling a total braking torque including one or both of the regenerative braking torque and the frictional braking torque which are applied to each of the wheels. When the total braking torque of at least one of the wheels has exceeded an upper limit corresponding to a friction coefficient of a road surface on which the motor vehicle is running, the total braking torque control device operates to zero the regenerative braking torque of each of the above-indicated at least one wheel and control the frictional braking torque of this wheel while reducing an influence of the zeroing of the regenerative braking torque.

Vehicle braking system having frictional and regenerative braking devices

The present invention is directed to a brake control system for an electrically operated vehicle which is adapted to add a hydraulic braking operation to a regenerative braking operation, or change the former for the latter, rapidly and smoothly. An electric motor is operatively connected to a wheel for rotating the wheel, and a motor control unit for controlling the electric motor to apply a rotating force and a regenerative braking force to the wheel. In a main passage for connecting a master cylinder with a wheel brake cylinder, a pressure limit changeover device is disposed. The changeover device includes a first pressure limit device which is adapted to close the main passage when a master cylinder pressure is lower than a first predetermined pressure, and open the main passage when the master cylinder pressure exceeds the first predetermined pressure, and a second pressure limit device which is adapted to close the main passage when the master cylinder pressure is lower than a second predetermined pressure which is lower than the first predetermined pressure, and open the main passage when the master cylinder pressure exceeds the second predetermined pressure. First and second valve devices for opening or closing the main passage are connected to the main passage in parallel with the first pressure limit device, and the second valve device is connected in series of the second pressure limit device.

Brake control system for an electrically operated vehicle

The present invention is directed to a brake control system for controlling a braking force applied to a wheel of an electrically operated vehicle. A changeover device is disposed in a main passage for selectively placing one of a first operating position where a static hydraulic pressure supplied from a master cylinder to a wheel brake cylinder is controlled to be lower than a master cylinder pressure generated from the master cylinder when an electric motor applies the regenerative braking force to the wheel, and a second operating position where the static hydraulic pressure is controlled to be substantially equal to the master cylinder pressure when the electric motor does not apply the regenerative braking force to the wheel. A pressure transmitting device is communicated with a dynamic pressure generator through an auxiliary passage and connected to the main passage between the changeover device and the wheel brake cylinder, so that it fluidly separates the dynamic hydraulic pressure and the hydraulic pressure in the wheel brake cylinder, and transmits the dynamic hydraulic pressure to the wheel brake cylinder. And, a valve device is disposed in the auxiliary passage so as to close the auxiliary passage when the regenerative braking force is applied to the wheel, and alternately open and close the auxiliary passage when the hydraulic braking force is applied to the wheel.

A braking system for an electromobile includes a relief valve VR2 for restricting a braking pressure to front wheel cylinders WC3, WC4, a bypass valve V5 connected in parallel to the relief valve VR2, a solenoid valve V1 interposed between the relief valve VR2 and booster HB and a solenoid valve V4 interposed between a pressure line 13 from the booster HB to the front wheel cylinders WC3, WC4 and a pressure line 12 from the booster HB to rear wheel cylinders WC1, WC2. During a regenerative braking by the use of an electric motor for driving front wheels WFL, WFR, a braking pressure is applied through the solenoid valve V1 and the relief valve VR2 to the wheel cylinders WC3, WC4. When the regenerative braking is interrupted, the solenoid valve V1 is closed and the bypass valve V5 and the solenoid valve V4 are opened.

Braking system for motor driven vehicle

A disk brake assembly includes a disk rotor, a mounting member secured to a vehicle body and having a pair of opposed arms positioned at opposite sides of the disk rotor, respectively, a pair of confronting pads arranged on the arms, respectively, a caliper slidably supported on the mounting member so as to be movable in an axial direction generally parallel to an axis of the disk rotor, the caliper having a piston portion and a reaction portion disposed on opposite sides of the disk rotor and arranged to press the pads against opposite surfaces of the disk rotor for generating a braking force therebetween, a plate secured to one of the arms so as to be deformed upon generation of the braking force along a direction thereof, and a detecting device serving for measuring a deformation of the plate as a braking force and converting the deformation into an electric signal.
