A liquid ejection recording element unit includes a first substrate provided with a first partition wall that demarcates a first flow channel including an ejection port of a liquid and an energy generating portion that generates energy for ejecting the liquid from the first flow channel; and a second substrate provided with a second partition wall that demarcates a second flow channel including a supply port of the liquid, the second substrate being stacked on the first substrate, so that the second flow channel communicates with the first flow channel. The first partition wall and the second partition wall are contiguous across a predetermined gap in the stacking direction of the first substrate and the second substrate. A hydraulic diameter of the gap is shorter than a hydraulic diameter of a smallest flow channel portion having a minimum flow channel cross-sectional area in the first flow channel.

Liquid ejection recording element unit and method for producing same

A process for producing a liquid ejection head includes steps of providing an element substrate having an element for generating energy to be utilized for ejecting a liquid, a wiring substrate electrically connected to the element substrate through a lead wire, and a support member having a first support portion and a second support portion; applying a sealant to the second support portion; placing the element substrate on the first support portion and bringing the lead wire into contact with the sealant applied to the second support portion; and curing the sealant.

Process for producing liquid ejection head

A recording head including: a supporting member including a depression and a peripheral portion in the periphery of the depression; a recording element substrate having an ejection port surface provided with an ejection port opening therein and arranged in the depression; and a tape adhered to the ejection port surface, wherein when viewing the recording head from above in a direction vertical to the ejection port surface, the recording element substrate and the peripheral portion are at least partly apart from each other via a groove, which is part of the depression, and the tape includes a portion located on the peripheral portion and a portion located on the groove at one lateral end thereof.

A method of manufacturing a liquid ejection head, which includes: preparing a liquid ejection head which includes: a recording element board provided with an ejection port through which liquid is ejected and an energy generator; an electrical wiring member provided with an opening from which the recording element board is exposed; and plural electrical connecting portions for electrically connecting the recording element board and the electrical wiring member relatively moving a discharge member, which is for dropping a sealing agent, toward one end of an arrangement of the electrical connecting portions while dropping the sealing agent onto the electrical wiring member and inside the opening; and relatively moving the discharge member from the one end of the electrical connecting portions to the other end while dropping the sealing agent to seal the electrical connecting portion.

Method of manufacturing a liquid ejection head by moving discharge members

The ink jet cartridge includes a tank case that has a space having a opening, a lid that closes the opening, an ink accommodating section that is formed with the space of the tank case and the lid, and an ink absorber that is accommodated in the ink accommodating section. Also, an atmosphere communication port that passes through the lid and a projection section that projects to the space of the tank case are provided in the lid. The ink absorber consists of a fiber aggregate, and a welding section in which the fibers are combined to each other and an unwelded section in which the fibers are not combined to each other are provided on a surface that faces the lid.

Ink jet cartridge and manufacturing method of ink jet cartridge

The liquid jet recording head includes a recording element substrate provided with a discharge port, and an electrode portion receiving a signal for controlling the discharge of the liquid droplet from the discharge port; a flexible wiring member provided with an opening, a flying lead protruding from the peripheral edge of the opening, and a film covering a portion of the flying lead; a sealant covering an electrical connection between the electrode portion and the flying lead; and a supporting member to which the recording element substrate and the flexible wiring member are attached. The film overhangs along the extension direction of the flying lead to the recording element substrate from the peripheral edge of the opening to form a void between the side surface of the recording element substrate and the supporting member, thereby partitioning the void from the electrical connection.

Liquid discharge recording head

An inkjet cartridge includes an ink absorber capable of being impregnated with ink and an ink-absorber container. The ink-absorber container includes a first housing containing a portion of the ink absorber and a second housing containing a remaining portion of the ink absorber which is not contained in the first housing. The first housing and the second housing are bonded together at bonding portions thereof. The ink absorber has a melted section at least in an area corresponding to the bonding portions, the processed section being formed by melting a surface of the ink absorber.

Inkjet cartridge and method for manufacturing the same

A manufacturing method for an ink jet recording head. The method includes the steps of preparing a recording element substrate, preparing an electric wiring member, preparing a sealing material discharging member, and applying a sealing material. The ink jet recording head is constructed to provide a first gap between a recording element substrate and an inner edge of a hole. The first gap is larger than a second gap between the recording element substrate and an opposite inner edge of the hole measured along the same line. The sealing material is applied while moving the sealing material discharging member, along the line, from a portion of an electric wiring member adjacent to the first gap, across the first gap, across the electrical connection portions, across the second gap, to a portion of the electric wiring member adjacent to the second gap.
