An image with a bright image plane can be photographed without deteriorating the yield. An object is photographed by a CCD () through each of plural filters (-) that have optical films vacuum deposited thereon so that spectral transmission characteristics vary between the filters periodically. Image data obtained by photographing is converted into image data which corresponds to a band by using a plurality of coefficients for converting the spectral transmission characteristics of the filter into spectral transmission characteristics of the target band.

A region-in object measuring system comprises a reference object () having two frames, i.e., an object surface frame () brought into contact with the surface of an object and a film frame () with which an X-ray film () is brought into contact, spaced from each other and a computing device. The computing device sets a three-dimensional X-ray coordinate system using the reference object () according to a two-dimensional X-ray image acquired by imaging a region in an object in a state that the object surface frame () of the reference object () is in close contact with the surface of the object by means of an X-ray imaging apparatus, determining the position of an X-ray source from the projection magnification and size of the image of the object surface frame (), determining the position vector of a specific region in a body according to the position of the X-ray source, and accurately determines the direction and three-dimensional position of the region in the object with respect to the position of the image of the region in the object shown on the X-ray image.

A given visual field is divided into a plurality of areas, and brightness information in the areas is detected at predetermined time intervals and stored as information of a mobile body in a memory of a motor vehicle monitoring apparatus on a motor vehicle. The bright information detected in the areas at different times is then read from the memory, and a motion of the brightness information between adjacent ones of the areas is detected as a one-dimensional optical flow. The detected one-dimensional optical flow is compared with a one-dimensional optical flow generated from a road due to the speed of the motor vehicle, for thereby detecting another motor vehicle which is moving toward the motor vehicle.
