A curved surface display comprises: a first substrate that is curved such that a portion located at a center in a first direction is convex or concave toward a display surface side compared with portions located at both ends in the first direction; a second substrate that is curved along the first substrate while disposed opposite the first substrate; and a sealing material that bonds the first substrate and the second substrate together. The sealing material includes a first sealing section extending in a second direction and a second sealing section extending in the first direction. A width of the first sealing section is larger than a width of the second sealing section.

Curved surface display and on-vehicle device

An LCD panel includes a display having a right edge, a left edge, and a center line. The display includes first substrate comprising a set of data lines extending in first direction and aligned in second direction, each of the data lines having a center. The display further includes second substrate aligned with the first substrate comprising a light blocking film overlapping the set of data lines and having a set of light blocking portions extending in the first direction and aligned in the second direction, each of the light blocking portions having a center and overlapping with an associated one of the data lines. The display has a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate and relative distance between the center of a data line and the center of an associated light blocking portion is determined based on a location of the data line.

Preventing color mixing in liquid crystal display devices

Provided is a display device, comprising: a display panel; a frame that holds the display panel; and an adhesive member to adhesively fix the display panel and the frame to each other. The adhesive member includes a base material, a first adhesive layer disposed on a surface on the display panel side of the base material, and a second adhesive layer disposed on a surface on a frame side of the base material. In planar view, the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer are disposed in at least a part of the adhesive member so as not to overlap each other, and a clearance is formed between the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer.

Display device

A lateral electric field type liquid crystal display device having a curved display surface, comprises: a curved first substrate including a plurality of gate lines, a plurality of data lines, a pixel electrode, and a common electrode; a curved second substrate that is disposed opposite to the first substrate, the second substrate including a polarizing plate; a liquid crystal layer disposed therebetween; a sealing material bonding the first substrate and the second substrate together; and a driver that outputs a drive signal to at least the plurality of gate lines or the plurality of data lines. In the polarizing plate, at least a part of a side near the driver overlaps the sealing material or is disposed outside the sealing material in planar view.
