A valve device includes: a housing having a cylindrical internal peripheral wall; a fluid introduction path communicating with a space in the internal peripheral wall; a fluid discharge path communicating with the space in the internal peripheral wall; a valve element having a communication path bringing the fluid introduction and fluid discharge paths into communication with each other, and having a major radial portion formed with a predetermined first internal radius associated with an internal radius of the internal peripheral wall of the housing, a minor radial portion formed with a second internal radius, and an intermediate portion formed to join the major and minor radial portions together; a valve element rotation mechanism rotating the valve element inside the space; a seal member being able to contact the valve element rotating inside the space; and a shaft inserted in the space through a through-hole formed in the housing.

Valve device and assembly method of valve device

A cooling apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a pump, a radiator, a flow rate adjustment valve, a bypass passage, and a controller. The flow rate adjustment valve includes a valve member that rotates to change an open degree of the flow rate adjustment valve and a valve member biasing component that biases the valve member in a valve-closing direction in which the open degree decreases. The valve member rotates in a valve-opening direction in which the open degree increases when a pressure difference increases between positions upstream and downstream of the valve member in a flow direction of coolant in the circulation circuit and rotate in the valve-closing direction when the pressure difference decreases. The controller increases the pump discharge amount as a target radiator flow rate that is a target of an amount of coolant passing through the radiator increases.

Cooling apparatus for internal combustion engine

A cooling apparatus includes a circulation circuit, a pump, a flow rate adjustment valve, and a controller. The flow rate adjustment valve includes a valve member that rotates to change an open degree of the flow rate adjustment valve and a stopper that moves between a restriction position and a retraction position. The controller is configured to execute, when maintaining the open degree of the flow rate adjustment, a preparatory process of moving the stopper to the restriction position after arranging the stopper at the retraction position and arranging the valve member further in the valve-closing direction than the stopper through control of the pump discharge amount.

A flow passage device includes a circulation flow passage, a swing valve provided in the circulation flow passage, an energizing part, and a lock mechanism including a lock pin. The lock pin is configured so as to hinder the swing valve from opening, and to allow the swing valve to open. The swing valve is configured so as to rotate from a first valve position to a second valve position. The lock mechanism is configured so as to set a locked state and to set an unlocked state. The lock pin is configured so as to protrude as being energized by pressure of the fluid on an upstream side of the swing valve, and to retract as being energized by pressure of the fluid on a downstream side of the swing valve.

Flow passage device and engine cooling system

A refrigerant control valve apparatus includes a valve body accommodated inside a valve housing, the valve housing being formed with an inlet port and a discharge port. A seal mechanism includes a seal body and a biasing mechanism. The seal mechanism is provided with a first pressure receiving surface receiving pressure of the refrigerant, which acts in a direction same as a biasing direction of the biasing mechanism, and a second pressure receiving surface receiving pressure of the refrigerant, which acts in a direction opposite to the biasing direction of the biasing mechanism. The first pressure receiving surface and the second first pressure receiving surface are formed to include an equal area to each other, and the seal mechanism is accommodated within a seal accommodation space such that pressure of the refrigerant from the inlet port acts on the first pressure receiving surface and the second pressure receiving surface.

Refrigerant control valve apparatus

A refrigerant control valve apparatus which maintains improved sealing ability while being restrained from being enlarged includes a housing including a first discharge port and a second discharge port which includes a smaller diameter than the first discharge port, a rotor rotatably housed at the housing, a bore portion provided at an outer wall portion of the rotor to control a flow of refrigerant relative to the first discharge port and the second discharge port, a second seal portion of the second discharge port being configured to make contact with an edge portion of the bore portion in a case where the rotor is specified at any rotation position for sending out the refrigerant to the second discharge port.

A refrigerant control valve device includes: a spherical rotor having an opening and rotating about a rotation axis; a housing including at least one circumferential port, and an axial port, the housing allowing a refrigerant to flow therein and the rotor being accommodated in the housing; at least one hole formed in the rotor and allowing the internal space of the rotor and the circumferential port to communicate with each other when the rotor rotates; a ring-shaped seal member installed coaxially with the circumferential port; a biasing member applying a biasing force to the seal member; a packing body provided between the housing and an outer diameter portion of the seal member; and a fixing member holding the packing body with the housing in a direction in which the circumferential port extends.

Refrigerant control valve device

A cooling system includes: a first coolant passage; a second coolant passage; a pump; a radiator; a third coolant passage; a connection switching mechanism that switches between a forward flow connection state and a reverse flow connection state; a fourth coolant passage; a fifth coolant passage; and a shutoff valve configured to open/shut off the fifth coolant passage. The radiator is disposed at a location at which coolant flowing from a second end of the first coolant passage into a fourth end of the second coolant passage is not cooled in the reverse flow connection state, and coolant flowing out from the second end of the first coolant passage and the fourth end of the second coolant passage is cooled in the forward flow connection state.

Cooling system for internal combustion engine

A refrigerant control valve apparatus includes a valve body provided with a main control valve controlling the refrigerant sent to a discharge port and a temperature sensing control valve controlling supply and discharge of the refrigerant to a temperature sensing chamber. A fail-safe mechanism is provided which supplies the refrigerant to the discharge port in a case where the temperature of the refrigerant exceeds a set value. The temperature sensing control valve is set in an open posture in a case where the main control valve is in a closed posture that closes the discharge port and the temperature sensing control valve is set in a closed posture in a case where the main control valve is in an open posture that opens the discharge port.

A cooling system of an internal combustion engine includes a first flow passage supplying a cooling medium of the internal combustion engine to a radiator, a second flow passage branching from the first flow passage by a flow control valve to supply the cooling medium to a first heat exchanging portion, a third flow passage provided separately from the first flow passage to supply the cooling medium to a second heat exchanging portion via an on-off valve and a control portion controlling the on-off valve and the flow control valve based on a temperature of the cooling medium.

Cooling system of internal combustion engine

A vehicular coolant control valve configured so that the opened state thereof can be switched between a state allowing a normal amount of fluid to pass and a state allowing a lesser amount of fluid to pass. The control valve includes a valve body having a magnetic body and controlling fluid flow, a valve seat constituting a fluid flow channel and coming into contact with the valve body to close the flow channel, a solenoid magnetically maintaining a contact state between the valve body and valve seat, and an urging mechanism urging the valve body opposite to a flow direction of the fluid. The valve body includes a first valve body maintaining a contact state with the valve seat when the solenoid is excited and a second valve body allowing passage of a small amount of the fluid when the first valve body is in contact with the valve seat.

Vehicular coolant control valve

A cooling system for an engine in the present invention includes a first coolant route for circulating coolant between a water jacket of an engine main body and a heater core, a second coolant route for circulating the coolant between a waste heat recovery unit and the heater core, a first water-temperature sensor provided on the first coolant route, and a second water-temperature sensor provided on the second coolant route. An engine control unit makes an engine stop determination based on the coolant temperatures detected by the first water-temperature sensor and the second water-temperature sensor and, in making the engine stop determination, selectively uses the coolant temperatures detected by the first water-temperature sensor and the second water-temperature sensor in dependence on whether a heater unit including the heater core is in an operation state or in an out-of-operation state.
