In a receiver that demodulates a received signal, deterioration of signal quality is suppressed. A current output unit generates and outputs, from a voltage signal, a current signal including a predetermined offset current in a low-frequency component between a high-frequency component having a frequency higher than a predetermined frequency and the low-frequency component having a frequency lower than the predetermined frequency. A demodulation unit demodulates the high-frequency component. A filter circuit passes, in the current signal, the high-frequency component from a current output unit to the demodulation unit, and causes the low-frequency component to flow from the current output unit to a predetermined reference potential point.

Receiver and receiver controlling method

This technology relates to a single-phase differential conversion circuit for improving the linearity of input/output characteristics, a signal processing method for use with the circuit, and a reception apparatus. The single-phase differential conversion circuit includes a first source-grounded amplifier and a second source-grounded amplifier. Each of the amplifiers includes a transconductance amplifier section including a transistor for converting an AC component of input potential to a current, a diode load section including a transistor in a diode connection configured as a first load, and a large-signal distortion compensation circuit configured as a second load connected in parallel with the first load. The transistors of the first source-grounded amplifier are each a P-type MOS transistor, and the transistors of the second source-grounded amplifier are each an N-type MOS transistor. This technology is applied advantageously to a reception apparatus for receiving TV signals, for example.

Single-phase differential conversion circuit, signal processing method for use therewith, and reception apparatus

The present disclosure relates to a signal processing apparatus capable of reducing a circuit scale when transmitting and receiving a signal from an antenna. A first n-type MOS transistor amplifies a transmission signal to be transmitted from the antenna. A second n-type MOS transistor supplies a reception signal to be received from the antenna to a reception circuit. The first n-type MOS transistor and the second n-type MOS transistor are connected to the antenna in series. Furthermore, the reception circuit is connected to a contact between the first n-type MOS transistor and the second n-type MOS transistor. The present disclosure is capable of being applied to, for example, a radio transceiver.

Signal processing apparatus

An output signal can be free of any noise component generated from an amplifier disposed in a path, without degradation of the S/N ratio of the output signal. An amplifier includes: a first amplifier that is connected to an input node and generates a first intermediate signal; a feedback resistor that enables feedback of the first intermediate signal to the input node; an attenuator that receives the first intermediate signal and generates a second intermediate signal; a second amplifier that is connected to the input node and generates a third intermediate signal; a third amplifier that is connected to the input node and generates a fourth intermediate signal; and an adder that generates an output signal, using the second intermediate signal, the third intermediate signal, and the fourth intermediate signal.

The present technology relates to a gain control circuit, a communication device, an electronic appliance, and a gain control method which aim to provide a technology capable of suppressing intermodulation distortion. The gain control circuit includes a first amplifier for amplifying an input signal, and a signal determination unit for determining an input signal to be input to the first amplifier, and controlling an amplification factor of the first amplifier based on the determination result. The communication device includes a first amplifier for amplifying a received signal, a receiving unit for performing a receiving process based on a signal output from the first amplifier, and a signal determination unit for determining a received signal to be input to the first amplifier, and controlling the amplification factor of the first amplifier based on the determination result. In the gain control method, an input signal to be input to a first amplifier for amplifying an input signal is determined, and the amplification factor of the first amplifier is controlled by a feed forward system based on the determination result.
