Further, a novel cyan color-forming type diazo heat-sensitive recording material having excellent shelf life, image light-resistance and image fixing property is provided. The pyrrolo&lsqb;1,2-a&rsqb;pyrimidine compound is represented by following general formula (1). The heat-sensitive recording material comprises a substrate, and on the substrate, a heat-sensitive recording layer containing a diazonium salt compound and a coupler. The coupler contains at least one of pyrrolo&lsqb;1,2-a&rsqb;pyrimidine compounds represented by following general formula (1). In the formula, R,represents an aryl group or the like, R,represents an alkoxycarbonyl group or the like, R,and R,represent an acyl group or the like, and R,represents a hydrogen atom or the like.

Pyrrolo &lsqb;1,2-A&rsqb; pyrimidine compound and heat-sensitive recording material using the same

A heat-sensitive recording material having a support and a heat-sensitive recording layer provided thereon. The heat-sensitive recording layer contains a diazonium salt compound and a coupler which reacts with the diazonium salt compound upon heating to form a color. The heat-sensitive recording layer contains a compound of the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R represents a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, and an aryl group; X represents a member selected from the group consisting of --COOR.sup.1, --OCOR.sup.--1, --CONR.sup.1 R.sup.2, and --NR.sup.2 COR.sup.1 ; R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group or an aryl group, R.sup.2 represents a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, and an aryl group; n represents an integer from 1 to 5.

A heat-sensitive recording material having excellent light-fastness and raw stock storability is disclosed. The material includes a support and a heat-sensitive recording layer provided on the support, and the heat-sensitive recording layer contains a diazo compound and a coupler. The coupler contains at least one species of pyrazolone compounds represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein Ar represents a phenyl group, a naphthyl group, or an aromatic heterocyclic group, any one of which may have a substituent bonded to the nucleus, said substituent may be a halogen atom, a cyano group, a trifluoromethyl group, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group, or a sulfamoyl group; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently represent an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, or an aryl group, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be linked to each other so as to form a heterocycle.

The present invention provides novel indolylazaphthalides represented by formula (I) described below. The indolylazaphthalides are useful as electron donative colorless dyes for preparing recording materials. Recording materials containing the novel indolylazaphthalides of formula (I) as electron donative colorless dyes provide images having blue to cyan colors at an excellent density, while suppressing light coloration in non-image areas. ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a divalent linkage group such as an alkylene group, cycloalkylene group, aralkylene group, or a phenylene group, which linkage group is linked to a bimolecular indolylazaphthalide compound to form a bis-type structure.

Photosensitive bis(halomethyloxadiazole) compounds which are capable of producing free radicals upon exposure to light represented by the following general formulae (1) to (4): ##STR1## The symbols in the above formulae are defined in the present specification. The photosensitive bis(halomethyloxadiazole) compound is useful in the fields of recording materials such as photosensitive protecting films, printing plates, photoresists, proofs, etc. Furthermore, a photosensitive transfer sheet using a photosensitive composition containing the photosensitive bis(halomethyloxadiazole) is useful in making a prepress proof for color proofing, a color display, etc.

An optical image forming material in which the background portions thereof are not color developed (not fogged) during storage in the dark after fixing, comprising a support having thereon at least a coating layer containing (1) microcapsules containing a leuco dye which is form color when it is oxidized and a photooxidizing agent, and (2) a reducing agent and a fixing accelerator present outside of the microcapsules. The reducing agent is a hydroquinone derivative substituted by an alkyl group at each of 2- and 5-positions thereof, and the fixing accelerator is 2,2-bis(4-hydroxy-phenyl)propane.
