An indicator apparatus for a hybrid vehicle includes a display region having a range that extends between first and second ends of the display region. The display region displays a first mark to indicate to the driver a first state amount that changes in accordance with the output demand from the driver, a first edge of the first mark moving across the range between the first and second ends of the display region as the first state amount changes. A second mark having a second edge is displayed so that the second edge extends across and overlaps the display region, the second edge indicating to the driver a threshold at which switching occurs between an EV traveling mode and an HV traveling mode.

A vehicle is a hybrid vehicle including an engine driven by fuel, and the vehicle includes a motor-generator driven by electric power and a charge plug to which a connector is removably connected, the charge plug being capable of at least one of being supplied with electric power from the connector and supplying electric power to the connector. An engine is arranged to be offset toward one side surface and the charge plug is provided in the other side surface.

Vehicle with an energy source supply portion

An indicator portion includes a first indicator portion and a second indicator portion. The first indicator portion indicates an accelerator pedal opening degree that changes in accordance with an operated amount of the accelerator pedal by the driver. The second indicator portion includes a division line and regions divided by the division line. The division line shows an accelerator pedal opening degree where traveling modes (EV mode and HV mode) are switched. The regions show the ranges of accelerator pedal opening degrees where traveling is performed in EV mode and HV mode, respectively.

A travel control device selects the travel modes of the hybrid vehicle that includes a battery configured to be charged with electric power from an external power source, an MG configured to generate a driving force for running with the electric power of the battery, and an engine configured to generate a driving force for running. The travel control device includes a second estimating unit and a drive switching unit. The second estimating unit estimates an expected charging time at a destination where the battery can be charged. The drive switching unit increases a usage frequency of the EV mode until reaching to the destination in a case where the expected charging time estimated by the second estimating unit is longer than a case where expected charging time is short.

A communication unit periodically transmits a request signal toward a prescribed range. When a transmitter exists in the range where the request signal can be received, it sends identification information in a responsive manner. A comparison ECU compares the identification information provided from the communication unit with a predetermined value, and if both of them match with each other, notifies a matching notification to a power source management ECU. On receipt of the matching notification from the comparison ECU, the power source management ECU notifies a lighting-up request for providing an instruction for lighting-up of a light-emitting unit to a body ECU. Upon receipt of the lighting-up request, the body ECU activates a lighting-up command LON. As a result, the light-emitting unit is lit up and notifies a user of the position of a charging port.

Vehicle capable of indicating a position of an electrical power-receiving unit

Vehicle capable of indicating a position of an electric power-receiving unit

A power management system is a system for performing power management on a management subject apparatus that includes a charging unit for charging a storage apparatus installed in a vehicle. The power management system includes: a detection unit that detects a power consumed by the management subject apparatus; an adjustment unit that adjusts a charging power charged to the vehicle from the charging unit; and a control unit that controls the adjustment unit. The control unit determines an allowable power that can be supplied to the vehicle from the charging unit, notifies the vehicle of the allowable power, and controls the adjustment unit such that a power transmitted to the vehicle is reduced when a response to the notification of the allowable power is not received. With the system according to the invention, restrictions on charging subject vehicles can be alleviated without increasing a charging capacity of a charging facility.

Power management system and power management method

An input/output control unit receives two temperature values from first and second temperature sensors, respectively, and calculates a temperature difference that is an absolute value of a difference between the two temperature values. The input/output control unit stores a map determining a relationship between temperature values and target values of input powers (or output powers) of the first and second batteries required for keeping the temperature difference. Based on this map and the two temperature values received from the first and second temperature sensors, respectively, the input/output control unit determines the target values of the respective input powers (output powers) of the first and second batteries. A hybrid control unit controls an inverter unit and a booster converter such that the values of the powers input/output to or from the first and second batteries attain the target values, respectively.

Electric apparatus and method of controlling the same

In charging first and second power storage devices from a charging station, an inverter ECU controls first and second inverters to convert AC power received at first and second neutral points into DC power and output the DC power to a power supply system. A converter ECU converts in voltage the electric power received from the first and second inverters to be charged and outputs the converted electric power to the first and second power storage devices, and for low temperature, controls first and second converters to allow the first and second power storage devices to communicate electric power therebetween.

Light applied from an illumination unit illuminates a space formed of an accommodation unit, and facilitates a user's operation of coupling a charging connector to an electric power-receiving unit. When a lid unit is in a closed state, a part of the light applied from the illumination unit toward the accommodation unit transmits through a light transmission member provided at the lid unit and leaks toward a space outside a vehicle body. The leaked light enables a user to visually perceive the position of the charging port at a glance even if the lid unit is in the closed state.

In a hybrid vehicle of the invention, the control procedure corrects an idling intake air flow Qidl to enable an engine immediately after its start to generate an output power Pe that is substantially equivalent to an engine power demand Pe*. After the correction, the control procedure controls the engine to have an intake air flow Qe with reflection of an intake air flow correction value Qec and controls a motor MGto generate electric power by using the output power Pe of the engine and to charge a battery with the generated electric power within an input limit Win of the battery. The control of the invention ensures that the output power Pe of the engine does not exceed the engine power demand Pe* in restriction of the charge level of the battery. This arrangement effectively prevents the state of charge SOC of the battery, which is charged with the electric power generated by the motor MG, from exceeding the input limit Win.

A vehicle control apparatus which starts an engine to generate electric power, and charges a battery for supplying electric power to a motor with the generated electric power when a state of charge (SOC) of the battery is reduced. The vehicle control apparatus starts the engine earlier when a load of the vehicle is larger than a predetermined set value than when the load is not larger than the predetermined set value.
