The object of the present invention is to provide a driving mechanism which is a higher powered motor that can be used even when an installation space is limited by reducing a space required for installation of the motor as a motive power of a driving mechanism, and which prevents the influences of vibration and heat generation in the operation. To achieve the object, an oscillation motor unit, an oscillation motor and a lens driving device are employed in which the vibrator, a push mechanism pushing the vibrator in a specific direction to transmit the motive power of the vibrator in which a vibrator is made vibrate and convert the vibration energy to a motive power transmitted are included, wherein a first base member for setting the vibrator and the push mechanism is set at the position where the first base member is sandwiched between the vibrator and the push mechanism.

An oscillation motor is adapted to press an oscillator toward a driven body in a stable state and increasing a drive efficiency. A lens driving mechanism is adapted to move a lens with excellent efficiency by using the oscillation motor. An oscillation motor generates motive power by pressure contact with a driven body to transmit vibration of the oscillator to the driven body. The oscillation motor includes the oscillator having a convex output portion on a side surface at one end side. The output portion of the oscillator is arranged to contact with the driven body. A press mechanism is also provided on a side surface at the other end side of the oscillator. The press mechanism includes a pressure correction device rotatably equipped at a position where the pressure correction device contacts with the oscillator, and the pressure correction device applies a pressure to the oscillator in a predetermined direction.

The oscillator holding mechanism present within an oscillation motor includes an oscillator that has a protruding output section on one end that generates a predetermined movement in the output section by vibration, a holding member that holds and accommodates the oscillator, and a buffer member that is made of an elastic material and is provided between the oscillator and the holding member. The buffer member has a first surface in contact with the holding member having a larger area than a second surface in contact with the oscillator and a cross sectional shape including a center axis that connects a center point of the first surface and a center point of the second surface that is axisymmetric with respect to the center axis.

A lens driving mechanism for an image pickup apparatus capable of being reduced in size, and having excellent driving accuracy and tranquility is provided. The lens driving mechanism is characterized in that vibration of a piezoelectric vibration motor is used as a driving source, and the vibration is transmitted to a motor power transmission ring directly or via a gear structure, to rotationally drive a lens driving ring. In a first lens driving mechanism, the motor power transmission ring is rotated by rotating the first transmission gear by use of the vibration of the piezoelectric vibration motor. In a second lens driving mechanism, a thrust bearing is provided on a gear side for rotating the motor power transmission ring, and the gear is rotated by vertically pressing a vibrator of the piezoelectric vibration motor in an urged state against a plane of the gear. In a third lens driving mechanism, the lens driving ring is rotationally driven by directly pressing a vibrator of each of one or more piezoelectric vibration motors in an urged state against the outer periphery of the lens driving ring.

A shutter unit is equipped with a base plate, a yoke, a coil that is attached in the middle of the yoke to excite the yoke, and a rotor that rotates in a predetermined direction by excitation of the yoke. A lens frame is formed on the base plate. The yoke has a substantially annular shape so as to be disposed on the base plate encircling the circumference of the lens frame. Thus, by forming the yoke in a substantially annular shape, the yoke and the coil can be moved toward an optical axis, and consequently, the shutter unit can be downsized.
