There is provided a silver halide photographic photosensitive material, containing a support and at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer on the support, the silver halide photographic photosensitive material, further including at least one layer containing an emulsion having at least one surfactant represented by the formula (I), in which the photosensitive material contains a substantially non-color-forming photosensitive emulsion layer. The formula (I) is indicated as (R&#x2014;L)-J-(A). In the formula: A represents an acid group or a metal salt thereof; Rrepresents an aliphatic group; L represents a divalent group; J represents a linking group, having a valence of n plus m, which links R&#x2014;L and A; n represents a natural number of from 1 to 6; and m represents a natural number of from 1 to 3.

Silver halide photographic photosensitive material

Silver halide color reversal photosensitive material

A silver halide photosensitive material comprises a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support. The photosensitive material has a layer comprising an emulsified dispersion containing a surfactant represented by formula (I), and an emulsion containing tabular silver halide grains having an average aspect ratio of 8 or greater, and at least one sensitizing dye.(R-LJA)&#x2003;&#x2003;General formula (I)wherein A represents an acid group or a metal salt thereof, Rrepresents an aliphatic group containing a linear aliphatic group having 6 or more carbon atoms as a partial structure thereof and having the total number of carbon atoms of 17 or more, L represents a bivalent group, J represents a linking group of n+m valence, n is an integer of 1 to 6, and m is an integer of 1 to 3. The molecular weight of surfactant of the formula (I) divided by m is 430 or greater.

A silver halide photosensitive material in which a noncoloring compound is used as a high-boiling-point organic solvent for dissolving components of the silver halide photosensitive material that have low solubility in water. Preferably, the silver halide photosensitive material has a hydrophilic colloid layer containing a hydrophilic polymer and the noncoloring compound is contained in the hydrophilic colloid layer. The silver halide photosensitive material produces durable colored images, reduces the formation of stains, improves storability, alleviates fogging and soft-toning of emulsion during storage, inhibits migration of a dispersion medium, is inexpensive, and is produced from materials that cause little damage to the environment.
