In a device for detecting mirror position, there is provided a resistor substrate being located coaxially with a nut adjuster for adjusting an angle of incline of a mirror, and a contact member so as to nip the resistor substrate. The contact member slides in line corresponding to the movement of the nut adjuster while the resistor substrate is fixed to a housing. Thus, as the nut adjuster slides, the contact member slides against the resistor substrate, which results the change of a contact position of the contact member and a long resistance R1. Consequently, since a voltage level generated at the contact member changes, the angle of incline of the mirror can be determined by detecting this voltage level. Inasmuch as the contact member and the resistor substrate are housed within a sliding block, there is no need for much space to locate the various parts in, and thus the whole device can be configured in a compact manner. In addition, the fact that the resistance R1 is connected to the direct-current power source via resistances R2 and R3 means that the measured voltage level is acquired in the form of an intermediate value of the direct-current power source voltage. Subsequently, it is possible to reduce the influence of noise and other factors so that the mirror angle can be detected with a high degree of accuracy.

Mirror position detection device

An antiglare inner mirror includes a housing which is supported by a stay and is capable of inclining by an inclining device. A mirror main body is mounted on a front opening portion of the housing. The mirror main body includes a front glass, a hologram element and a seal glass bonded integrally together. A reflecting film is formed on the rear surface of the seal glass. The hologram element consists of a reflecting type hologram element having a reflecting plane made of interference fringes which is arranged non-parallel to the front surface of the hologram element. Incident light from outside is reflected both by the reflecting film and by the interference fringes of the hologram element to form rays of light reflected in different directions.

Antiglare inner mirror

The electrically powered foldable outer rearview mirror includes a base (43); a shaft (10) mounted on the base and including a protruding cylindrical portion (11) and a flange portion (20) having a slide surface (Sa); and a frame (15) rotatably engaged on the cylindrical portion (11), the frame (15) having a root portion (24) provided with an annular-shaped sliding portion (S) bearing on the slide surface (Sa) to slide smoothly around the cylindrical portion (11). The frame is provided with an annular-shaped plate stopper element (14) in a rear surface of the root portion (24) and inside of the annular sliding portion (S). The flange portion (20) has a shaft stopper element (32) loosely engaged in an arc-shaped groove (31) provided in the frame root portion (24) and balls (13,13) accommodated in respective hemispherical apertures (12,12) provided in the flange portion (20) and located so that the balls (13,13) engage in recesses (14c) in a plate stopper element (14). The shaft (10) includes an annular rib (16) protruding from the flange portion (20) and extending coaxial to the plate stopper element (14) around an outer periphery of the sliding surface (Sa) and the rear surface of the frame root portion (24) is provided with an annular groove (17) in which the annular rib (16) engages loosely.

Electrically powered foldable outer rearview mirror for a motor vehicle

The electrical control system for an electrically powered foldable rearview mirror having a mirror body mounted on a hollow supporting shaft extending from a supporting base so as to be movable between a folded state and an erected state, comprises a reversible motor and reduction gear drive contained in the mirror body; a motor drive circuit connected to the reversible motor to drive the mirror body between the folded state and the errected state; a mechanical stop device to stop rotation of the mirror body when the mirror body reaches the erected state or the folded state including convex and concave portions on the a root portion of the shaft and mirror body respectively; a noncontacting sensor for detecting a halt to motor rotation as a result of a halt of mirror body rotation; and a control circuit for interrruption of the motor drive circuit when the noncontacting sensor detects the halt of the motor rotation.

Electrically foldable rearview mirrors

A waterdrop repellent mirror provide a vibration plate which piezoelectric oscillator is affixed on the back side of the mirror, and a heater is placed therein to heat up the mirror surface. The piezoelectric oscillator on the rear surface of the mirror give ultra sonic wave vibration to the mirror through the vibration plate. When mirror surface resonate by inputting the vibration of the oscillator to the mirror, any waterdrop sticked on the mirror surface are dispersed. Re-sticked fine mist of waterdrop or frozen frost on the mirror surface can be removed by heated up the mirror, thereby clear mirror surface can be secured.
