An electrical connector includes a housing, first and second sets of terminals and a spacer. The housing has a first sidewall, a second sidewall spaced apart from the first sidewall and a cavity between the first and second sidewalls. The first set of terminals is disposed in the cavity adjacent to the first sidewall. The second set of terminals is disposed in the cavity adjacent to the second sidewall. The spacer is disposed in the cavity between the first and second sets of terminals.

Electrical connector with cavity between terminals

An electrical connector includes a housing, contact elements and locking members attached to the housing. The housing has a front end, a back end, a top side, a bottom side and a cavity between the top side and the bottom side. The cavity is to partially receive a circuit board therein. Each contact element is insertable into the housing along a direction from the bottom side towards the top side. Each locking member is insertable into the housing along a direction from the bottom side towards the top side. The upper and lower contact arms and the lock arm are resiliently deflectable away from the cavity to allow insertion of the circuit board into the cavity, and spring back when the circuit board is inserted into the cavity to make electrical connection to the circuit board and to lock the circuit board in the housing.

Low profile circuit connector

A high speed flexible printed circuit (FPC) connector includes a housing with ground and signal contact terminal pairs arranged in the housing in a staggered manner along a lateral direction. The housing has a cavity for receiving an FPC board therein. Each ground contact terminal has an upper arm positioned adjacent to a top wall of the cavity and a lower arm positioned adjacent to a bottom wall of the cavity. Each signal contact terminal has only a lower arm positioned adjacent to the bottom wall of the cavity. Signal contact terminals with the only lower arm provide the connector with better signal integrity. An actuator is coupled to the housing for fixing the FPC board in the cavity to establish electrical connections. The actuator has recesses corresponding to the positions of the signal pairs to provide a dielectric constant different from that of the other parts of the actuator.

High speed flexible printed circuit connector

A docking connector comprises a first connector and a second connector. The first connector has an insulating first housing. The first housing includes guide pins that extend from a mating surface of the first housing. The guide pins are moveable toward and away from the first housing. The guide pins are locked in a position away from the first housing by a locking member. The second connector has an insulating second housing. The second housing includes guide pin receiving openings that receive the guide pins. The second connector has a lock release member for unlocking the guide pins during insertion of the guide pins in the guide pin receiving openings.

The present invention provides a cable connector that can reduce the stress that is generated in the solder connections between the contacts of the connector and the circuit board. The cable connector comprises a plurality of contacts, each having a contact part configured to contact a mating contact on one end, and a soldering part on the other end, a circuit board that is soldered to the soldering part of the contacts and is soldered to a cable, a housing that accommodates the contacts, the housing having a mating part disposed on the front thereof configured to mate with the mating connector and circuit board supporting parts that support the circuit board and extend rearward from both ends of the mating part, and locking arms disposed in the housing and configured to lock with a mating connector. The locking arms extend along both sides of the mating part and extend along the circuit board supporting parts.

Cable connector

An electrical connector has an insulative housing with an engagement portion provided with contacts. A shield member is mounted to an exterior of the insulative housing and is connected to a circuit board. Guide posts protrude from a surface of the insulative housing for facilitating engagement of the electrical connector with a mating connector. The guide posts have tips positioned further from the insulative housing than the engagement portion. Conductive members are arranged on the tips of the guide posts. The conductive members facilitate electrostatic discharge with the mating connector and have retention legs connected to the circuit board independently from the shield member.

ESD type connector

An electrical connector has an insulative housing with a mounting surface that is inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to a plane perpendicular to an engagement direction with another connector. A plurality of contacts is arranged in the insulative housing. Each contact has a tine that extends parallel to the engagement direction for insertion into through-holes of a circuit board. An aligning member is attached to the insulative housing. The aligning member has a plurality of apertures for receiving and aligning the tines and standoffs that reduce bending stress applied to the tines. The standoffs abut the circuit board so that the aligning member inclines at an angle less than the predetermined angle when the insulative housing is mounted on the circuit board to reduce bending stress applied to the tines.

Electrical connector

The present invention provides an electrical connector with a plurality of contacts therein and a conductive shutter rotatable between a closed position covering the plurality of contacts and an open position exposing the plurality of contacts. A shield member encircles the plurality of contacts and is configured to make electrical contact with the conductive shutter when the conductive shutter is in the closed position. A mating connector and a connector arrangement are also provided.

Electrical connector with shutter

An electrical connector assembly comprising a first connector and a second connector. The first connector has a mating portion and a shutter member that is mounted substantially adjacent to the mating portion. A first conductor is provided on the shutter member and a cam engagement member drives the shutter member between an open and a closed position. The second connector has an actuator with a cam. A second conductor is provided on the cam and contacts the first conductor to prevent electrostatic discharge when the cam engages the cam engagement member to drive the shutter member into an open position.

An electrical connector has an insulative housing that is mounted on a circuit board. The insulative housing has a plurality of contacts with tines that extend through a bottom surface of the insulative housing for connection to the circuit board. A movable contact alignment member is positioned adjacent to the bottom surface of the housing and aligns the tines with the circuit board. The moveable contact alignment member is temporarily fixed to the insulative housing by latch arms and is urged into permanent fixture with the insulative housing by the circuit board when the insulative housing is mounted thereon. A shield member is attached to the insulative housing. The shield member has an extension portion configured to shield at least a portion of the tines that are exposed between the insulative housing and the movable contact alignment member.

The male connector has a metal shielding shell that accommodates a housing and a synthetic resin enclosure that covers approximately the rear half of this shielding shell . Fastening parts and protruding parts are formed by stamping in the upper-side shell half-body . A metal latching arm which is formed with the approximate shape of a shallow inverted V, and which has an engaging part , is disposed between these fastening parts and protruding parts . The latching arm can be pressed by means of a finger-catch part . This configuration obtains the desired shielding performance while maintaining a compact size in a shielded electrical connector assembly.
