A modified polyolefin resin composition may include a modified polyolefin resin (X) formed by modifying an acid-modified polyolefin resin (A) with a modification component comprising an alcohol (B), in which the modified polyolefin resin composition satisfies (I) to (III): (I) the resin (A) is a resin formed by modifying a polyolefin (a) with an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and a derivative (b) of the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid having a structure (b1) derived from at least one carboxy group; (II) a residual ratio of the structure (b1) in the resin (X) is more than 0% to 50% or less; and (III) a content of the alcohol in the composition is 1.0 mol to 5.0 mol relative to 1.0 mol of the structure (b1) that the resin (A) has.

Modified polyolefin resin composition

A chlorinated polyolefin resin may have excellent adhesion and can be produced without using a chlorinated solvent and without producing by-products through a series of production processes. Such a chlorinated polyolefin resin may be a chlorinated polyolefin resin having an amount of chlorine of 1% by weight to 45% by weight obtained by chlorinating a raw material composition in the absence of an organic solvent, wherein the raw material composition includes at least a polyolefin A or an acid-modified product thereof which has fluidity at 40° C. or less and a polyolefin B or an acid-modified product thereof which has a melting point of more than 40° C. and 150° C. or less.

Chlorinated polyolefin resin and method for producing the same

Provided is a resin composition having a large proportion of polyolefin components, allowing preparation of a solution having a high solid content, having a good solution property after long-term storage, having good pigment dispersibility, and including a modified product of component (A): polyolefin resin with component (B): (meth)acrylic acid and/or (meth)acrylic acid ester, in which the weight ratio of the component (A) to the component (B) ((A)/(B)) is 90/10 to 30/70, and the component (B) contains 20% by weight or more of component (B1): an alkoxy (poly)alkylene glycol mono(meth)acrylic acid ester.

Resin composition and uses thereof

An object is to provide a chlorinated polyolefin resin composition being superior in adhesion, solution stability, and chipping resistance. The chlorinated polyolefin resin composition contains a component (A): a polyolefin resin A having a melting point (Tm) obtained with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) in the range of 90 to 160&#xb0; C., and a component (B): a polyolefin resin B having a melting point (Tm) obtained with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) in the range of 50 to 130&#xb0; C., at least any one of the component (A) and the component (B), or a copolymer thereof being a chlorinated polyolefin resin (where |Tm&#x2212;Tm|&#x2265;5&#xb0; C.).

Chlorinated polyolefin resin composition

An object is to provide a resin composition having excellent performance as a binder such as adhesiveness and, at the same time, retaining solution properties favorably even after a solution is stored for a long period of time. A modified polyolefin resin composition includes a modified polyolefin resin (C), in which the modified polyolefin resin (C) is a resin made by modifying a polymer (A) that is a polymer (a) of a polyolefin resin or a chlorinated polyolefin resin and an &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative having a structure derived from at least one carboxy group or a chlorinated product (b) thereof with a modification component including an alcohol (B); and a residual ratio of the structure derived from at least one carboxy group in the modified polyolefin resin (C) is 50% or more and 80% or less.

Modified polyolefin resin composition and method for producing the same

Provided is a modified polyolefin resin that is excellent in adhesion to nonpolar substrates such as a polyolefin substrate, and excellent in stability in an alcohol solvent. In the modified polyolefin resin, the following polymer (A) is grafted on the following resin (B). Polymer (A): a polymer including at least one constitutional unit selected from the group consisting of a constitutional unit derived from an &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid and a constitutional unit derived from a derivative of an &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid, and having a hydroxyl value in a range of 10 mgKOH/g or larger and 200 mgKOH/g or smaller. Resin (B): a polyolefin resin or a modified product thereof.

Modified polyolefin resin

The present invention provides a modified polyolefin resin that can form a coating that exhibits excellent adhesion to a low-polarity base material, especially a poorly adherable polyolefin base material with no surface treatment even when being dried at low temperatures and has flexibility (bendability). Provided is a modified polyolefin resin that is a modified product of a polyolefin resin having a melting point (Tm) by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) of 60 to 165&#xb0; C. with a modifier comprising the following (A):

It is an object of the present invention to provide a polyolefin resin dispersion composition in which the dispersed resin is stable to water or a hydrophilic substance, and which has an adhesive property to nonpolar substrates, in particular poorly adhesive polyolefin-based substrates whose surface has not been treated, is excellent in a coating property, exhibits an excellent adhesive property through drying and press bonding with heat at a temperature in a wide range regardless of whether the temperature is low or high, is excellent in water resistance and gasohol resistance and is less tacky. That is, the present invention provides the dispersed resin composition containing (a) a polyolefin resin, (b) a (meth)acrylic acid homopolymer or copolymer having a side chain comprising an esterified alkyl group, (c) a basic substance and (d) water or a hydrophilic substance, and a process for producing the same.

Polyolefin resin dispersion composition and process for producing the same

A novel binder resin which attains good adhesion to various substrates such as polyolefin resins, vinyl chloride resins, polycarbonate resins, polyethylene terephthalate resins, acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene resins, and nylon resins even by low-temperature baking and has excellent solubility in solvent. Namely, a chlorinated propylene random copolymer produced by subjecting a propylene random copolymer which is obtained by copolymerizing propylene with other alpha-olefins by using a metallocene catalyst as the polymerization catalyst and which has a melting point (Tm) of less than 115&#xb0; C. as determined with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) to thermally kneaded preferably at a temperature ranging from the melting point of the copolymer to 350&#xb0; C. and chlorination successively.

Chlorinated propylene random copolymer and compositions containing the same

The invention provides a novel binder resin composition with good adherence onto prime materials of polyolefin, poly (vinyl chloride), polycarbonate, PET, ABS and nylon, and also with excellent solvent solubility. A binder resin composition characterized by being chlorinated propylenic random copolymer with weight average molecular weight of 3000 to 250000, wherein propylenic random copolymer with melting point (Tm) measured by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) of 115 to 165&#xb0; C. obtained by copolymerizing propylene with other &#x3b1;-olefin in the coexistence of metallocene type catalyst is chlorinated to chlorine content of 10 to 40% by weight, after thermal degradation or directly without thermal degradation, and/or a binder resin composition characterized by containing carboxyl group-containing chlorinated propylenic random copolymer with weight average molecular weight of 30000 to 220000, wherein propylenic random copolymer with melting point (Tm) measured by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) of 115 to 165&#xb0; C. obtained by copolymerizing propylene with other &#x3b1;-olefin in the coexistence of metallocene type catalyst is grafted with &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride in amounts of 0.1 to 20% by weight, after thermal degradation or directly without thermal degradation, and then chlorinated to chlorine content of 10 to 40% by weight, stabilizer and organic solvent.

Binder resin compositions, production process and use thereof

A binder resin containing a mixture of carboxyl group containing chlorinated polyolefins and an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. The binder resin is incorporated in primer formulations for application on substrates including polyolefinic materials.
