The present invention provides a pyrimidoquinazoline pigment having a novel pyrimidine skeleton, the pyrimidoquinazoline pigment having excellent pigment properties, such as coloring power and durability, and excellent infrared reflectivity and a method for producing the pyrimidoquinazoline pigment, and a pigment colorant using the pyrimidoquinazoline pigment. The present invention relates to a pyrimidoquinazoline pigment represented by the following formula (1), wherein Rand Reach independently represent a benzene ring or a naphthalene ring optionally having a substituent, and a method for producing the pyrimidoquinazoline pigment. In addition, the present invention relates to a pigment colorant containing the pyrimidoquinazoline pigment.

There are provided: a near-infrared non-absorbing black azo pigment having a sufficient blackness, having an excellent durability such as solvent resistance, and having a novel skeleton; and a colorant that uses the black azo pigment and is useful for forming a black matrix or a light-shielding film. The black azo pigment is represented by the following formula (1), wherein Rrepresents an aryl group optionally having a substituent. In addition, the colorant contains the black azo pigment and is suitable as a material or the like for forming a black matrix for a color filter or for forming a light-shielding film.

The present invention provides a transistor element having a laminated structure, the laminated structure comprising a sheet-like base electrode being arranged between an emitter electrode and a collector electrode; at least one p-type organic semiconductor layer being provided on each of the surface and the back sides of the base electrode; and a current transmission promotion layer being formed, on each of the surface and back sides of the base electrode, between the base electrode and the p-type organic semiconductor layer or layers provided on each of the surface and back sides of the base electrode. According to the present invention, it becomes possible to provide a transistor element (MBOT) that is, in particular, stably supplied through a simple production process, has a structure capable of being mass-produced, and has a large current modulation effect and an excellent ON/OFF ratio at a low voltage in the emitter electrode and the collector electrode.

The fine-particulate organic semiconductor material is in a form of fine particles and is usable as an organic semiconductor material. The fine particles are fine thermotropic liquid crystal particles that undergo a phase transition into a liquid crystal state when heated to a temperature of from 50&#xb0; C. to 350&#xb0; C. The fine-particulate organic semiconductor material can easily and uniformly form the thin organic semiconductor film over a large area by a film printing process or a dispersion coating process. The thin organic semiconductor film has high electron mobility and high ON/OFF value.

Provided are an organic semiconductor material, organic semiconductor thin film and organic thin-film transistor, which contain a perylene tetracarboxylic diimide derivative represented by the following formula (1): In the formula (1), Rmeans a linear or branched alkyl group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, Rmeans a linear or branched alkyl group having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, Rmeans a linear or branched alkyl group having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, Xand Xeach mean a heteroatom selected from an oxygen atom, sulfur atom or selenium atom, Y means a halogen atom or cyano group, m stands for a number of from 0 to 4, and n stands for a number of from 0 to 2. Further, the alkyl groups represented by Rand Rmay each be substituted with one or more fluorine atoms.

A current-amplifying transistor device is provided, between an emitter electrode and a collector electrode, with two organic semiconductor layers and a sheet-shaped base electrode. One of the organic semiconductor layers is arranged between the emitter electrode and the base collector electrode, and has a diode structure of a p-type organic semiconductor layer and an n-type p-type organic semiconductor layer. A current-amplifying, light-emitting transistor device including the current-amplifying transistor device and an organic EL device portion formed in the current-amplifying transistor device is also disclosed.

An organic semiconductor material is represented by the following formula (F): wherein A represents a cyclic conjugated skeleton structure formed of one or more aromatic rings, and Rand Reach independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group. The organic semiconductor material has high electron mobility and high on/off ratio, and can form an organic semiconductor thin film by a solution process making use of its solution.

A high-molecular gelling agent precursor for an electrolyte comprises a copolymer formed of (A) a hydrophobic monomer having a hydrophobic group, which forms a carboxyl group upon saponification, and (B) a hydrophobic polyfunctional monomer. The saponification product of the copolymer has property to gel the electrolyte. A high-molecular gelling agent for the electrolyte is produced by saponifying the precursor with a saponifying agent selected from the group consisting of acids and alkalis while using a reaction medium selected from the group consisting of water and hydrophobic organic solvents.

A charge mosaic membrane having excellent selective permeability comprises a cationic polymer component, an anionic polymer component and a matrix component. Both of the cationic polymer component and the anionic polymer component are crosslinked particulate polymers. The matrix component is at least one polymer selected from a polysulfone resin, a polyarylate resin, a polyamide resin, a polyimide resin, a polyamideimide resin, a polyurethane resin, a fluorinated resin or a silicone resin. The charge mosaic membrane can be easily produced by conducting formation of the membrane by using a composition in which the cationic polymer component and the anionic polymer component are both dispersed in a solution of the matrix component in an organic solvent.

An ion-selective membrane is formed integrally of an ion-selective membrane forming component and a woven-fabric-shaped backing. The ion-selective membrane forming component comprises a cationic polymer component and/or an anionic polymer component and a matrix component. Each of the ionic polymer components is a particulate polymer having an average particle size in a range of from 0.01 to 10 &mgr;m. The woven-fabric-shaped backing has a meshed structure. The ion-selective membrane can be produced by forming it while maintaining a layer of a coating formulation, in which the ionic polymer component is dispersed in a solution or dispersion of the matrix component in an organic solvent, in close contact with the woven-fabric-shaped backing. The ion-selective membrane is useful for the permeation of an electrolyte. An apparatus provided with the ion-selective membrane is also provided.

A recycling method is provided for an article with a coating applied on a surface thereof. According to the recycling method, the coating on the surface of the article is formed with the potentially hydrophilic resin composition, and subsequent to use of the article, the article is treated with alkaline water to saponify methyl acrylate in the coating such that the coating is caused to swell, and the coating so swollen is removed from the article.

A process is disclosed for the production of connected microgel particles. According to the process, starting microgel particles having particle sizes of 100-0.01 .mu.m and a particle size distribution whose standard deviation is not greater than 100% of a mean particle size of the starting microgel particles are dispersed in a matrix component. The starting microgel particles are soaked with a monomer. The monomer is then polymerized, whereby the starting microgels are connected together. Also disclosed is an article comprising a base material and a layer of such connected microgel particles formed on a surface of the base material.
