A machine tool including a non-contact affected layer detection sensor capable of detecting an affected layer with high precision is provided. A machine tool includes a non-contact affected layer detection sensor, a main body, probes and that contact the surface of an workpiece, arm portions supported by the main body, and dimension measurement sensors that output a signal that corresponds to the dimension of the workpiece on the basis of displacement of the arm portions with respect to the main body. The affected layer detection sensor is provided in the arm portion, and outputs a signal that corresponds to an affected state of the workpiece. The arm portions hold the probes respectively, and are displaceable with respect to the main body in accordance with the dimension of the workpiece.

An oil pump apparatus in which an electrical pump can be easily disposed is provided. A mechanical pump including: an inner gear which is configured to be driven by an engine; and an outer gear which is configured to mesh with the inner gear, and an electrical pump including: an outer gear which is configured to be driven by a motor section; and an inner gear which is configured to mesh with the outer gear are installed adjacent to each other in the axial direction in a pump installation space of a pump housing having suction ports and ejection ports. A blocking plate which is configured to block communications between the suction ports and the ejection ports is disposed between the mechanical pump and the electrical pump.

An easily structured swing internal contact type planetary gear device is proposed which can achieve a higher meshing ratio when an involute tooth profile is adapted. Each of an internal tooth of an internally toothed gear wheel and an external tooth of an externally toothed gear wheel is formed with an involute tooth profile. Under a driving condition, one of an internal tooth body of the internally toothed gear wheel and an external tooth body of the externally toothed gear wheel is elastically deformed in an extending direction and the other thereof is elastically deformed in a contracting direction so that the number of meshing teeth becomes larger than the number of meshing teeth under a non-driving condition.

A floating chuck mechanism provided at a workhead that is arranged at a processing apparatus for sandwiching a cylindrical-shaped workpiece by means of two center members along a rotational axis, the floating chuck mechanism causing the workpiece to rotate about the rotational axis and correcting an eccentricity between the rotational axis and a center of an outer diameter of the workpiece, includes a chuck body portion including plurality of clamp jaws for holding the workpiece from the outer peripheral side thereof, and a chuck base portion fixed to the workhead so as to rotate therewith, the chuck base portion including a fixed portion fixed to the workhead and a slide portion slidable along a slide surface perpendicular to the rotational axis. The chuck body portion is fixed to the slide portion and sliding along the slide surface so as to correct the eccentricity.

Floating chuck mechanism

A tool moving device with a linear motor is provided with a movable body which is movable bodily with a tool on a support frame through a pair of fluid bearings. A plurality of magnet constructs are circumferentially arranged on the movable body to respectively face stationary coils secured to the support frame. Each of the magnet constructs comprises at least one pair of magnet members juxtaposed in the moving direction of the magnet yoke and arranged with their polarities of magnet pole being opposite to each other, wherein respective pairs of the magnet members attached to the circumferential surface form first and second rows spaced from each other in the moving direction of the magnet yoke. Each magnet member in each of the first and second rows is arranged to be opposite in polarity of magnet pole to each of the magnet members next thereto in the circumferential direction.

Linear motor and tool moving device with the same

A moving-magnet type linear motor is provided with cooling blocks which are attached to each of stator bases alongside a coreless coil and which allow coolant to flow therethrough for cooling the coreless coil. Each of the cooling blocks has in a base end portion thereof a fluid passage for flowing coolant and at an extreme end portion thereof a plurality of sheet-like protrusions like fins which are arranged alongside a part of the circumferential surface of the coreless coil with a clearance between each protrusion and the next thereto. Each cooling block is thermally closely jointed with the coreless coil at the extreme ends of the sheet-like protrusions.
