A dispensing tip holder is used when a dispensing tip is attached to a tip of a pipette, and includes a peripheral wall having a shape surrounding an outer peripheral surface of the dispensing tip, and an insertion portion having an insertion opening into which the dispensing tip is to be inserted. The peripheral wall has a first end into which the dispensing tip is to be inserted, and has a second end provided at a position opposite to the first end. The insertion portion is formed in the peripheral wall such that an outer peripheral surface of the dispensing tip abuts against an edge of the insertion opening, and is formed in the peripheral wall such that a tip of the dispensing tip does not project from the second end of the peripheral wall, when the dispensing tip is inserted into the insertion opening from the first end.

A method for testing target nucleic acid includes the steps from (1) through (5) below: (1) mixing a specimen containing target nucleic acid with positive control nucleic acid to obtain a specimen mixture of the specimen and the positive control nucleic acid; (2) mixing the specimen mixture with a PCR buffer solution containing a surfactant to obtain a buffer solution mixture; (3) adding a portion of the buffer mixture to a solid composition for PCR control containing DNA polymerase, positive control nucleic acid, and PCR reaction control nucleic acid; (4) adding a portion of the buffer mixture to a solid composition for PCR reaction containing DNA polymerase and one or more kinds of PCR primer pair; and (5) detecting a PCR product generated as a result of the steps (3) and (4).

Method and device for testing target nucleic acid

A stool collection container includes: a stool collection container main body having a structure in which a stick holder for holding a stool collection stick is detachably mounted on one end side while the stool collection part and the stool collection stick are housed inside; and a collection needle penetrating through a wall surface of the another end side of the stool collection container main body so that a tip thereof is inserted into the stool collection container main body, the collection needle being provided so as to be detachable from the stool collection container main body. When the stick holder is mounted on one end side of the stool collection container main body, the tip of the collection needle is inserted into the opening of the stool collection part housed inside the stool collection container main body.

The object of the present invention is to provide a simple, rapid and highly sensitive method of examining EHEC or VTEC in the examination of food poisoning and diarrhea. In the present invention, the oligonucleotides of SEQ ID NOS: 1-9 hybridizing selectively with a Vero toxin gene from EHEC (or VTEC) or with an O antigen-synthesizing region gene from pathogenic E. coli O157 are prepared and used as primers for gene amplification. By this method, bacteria producing O157 as one of the pathogenic factors in these bacteria and E. coli capable of producing Vero toxin can be selectively detected.
