A learning support system has an information processing apparatus, a portable information terminal and a learning management server which are connected through a network. The information processing apparatus includes a second memory unit for storing first learning information which includes result of learning, and the portable information terminal includes a fourth memory unit for storing second learning information which includes result of learning at the portable information terminal, and the learning management server includes a fifth memory unit for storing the first learning information transferred from the information processing apparatus and the second learning information transferred from the portable information terminal. The information processing apparatus or the portable information terminal carries out continuous learning after learning information of other party is acquired through the fifth memory unit.

Learning support system

An original text inputting portion inputs an original text into an original text storage portion and at the same time transfers it to a translating portion that in turn translates the received text referring to a dictionary in a dictionary portion and stores a resultant translation into a translation storage portion. A format inputting portion inputs a format for the original text and a format for the translation and a format storage portion stores the input formats therein. A synthesized information storage portion synthesizes the original text stored in the original text storage portion, the translation stored in the translation stored portion and the formats stored in the format storage portion and stores a synthesized result. An outputting portion outputs the synthesized result to an external device such as a printer, display and external storage.

Translation machine with format control

A translation apparatus is provided which comprises: an inputting section for inputting a source document in a natural language; a layout analyzing section for analyzing layout information including cascade information, itemization information, numbered itemization information, labeled itemization information and separator line information in the source document inputted by the inputting section and specifying a translation range on the basis of the layout information; a translation processing section for translating a source document text in the specified translation range into a second language; and an outputting section for outputting a translated text provided by the translation processing section.

Translation apparatus and storage medium therefor

The data processor according to the present invention includes a memory for storing data including at least a first document and a second document having a link to the first document, a first display for displaying the data stored in the memory, a translator for translating the data displayed on the first display, a second display for displaying translation by the translator, an indicator for indicating a specific portion of the first document displayed on the first display or a specific portion of the translation thereof displayed on the second display and display controller for controlling so that the second document linked to the specific portion indicated by the indicator is displayed on the first display.
