Provided is an adhesive layer-equipped transparent surface material that can easily be bonded to another surface material (a display panel, etc.) and that, when bonded to another surface material, is less likely to have voids left at the interface between the adhesive layer and another surface material. An adhesive layer-equipped transparent surface materialcomprises an adhesive layerformed on at least one surface of a protective plate(a transparent surface material), wherein the adhesive layerhas a layer portionspreading over the surface of the protective plateand a barrier portionsurrounding the periphery of the layer portion; and the layer portionhas a shear modulus at 35&#xb0; C. of from 0.5 to 100 kPa.

To provide a curable resin composition for forming a seal part, which is capable of easily forming a continuous seal part and which is capable of maintaining the shape of the seal part during a period of from immediately after the formation of an uncured seal part until a liquid material is supplied to a region enclosed by the seal part and the seal part is cured, and a laminate which has minimal defects and whereby a resin layer interposed between first and second plates can be made thick. A process of producing a transparent laminate by interposing a curable resin composition containing an unsaturated urethane oligomer (A) which is a reaction product of a polyol component (A1) containing a polyol (a1) having from 2 to 3 hydroxy groups, a hydroxy value of 15 to 30 mgKOH/g and an oxyethylene group content of 8 to 50 mass %, a polyisocyanate (A2) and an unsaturated hydroxy compound (A3) or a reaction product of a polyol component (A1) and an unsaturated isocyanate (A4), and a monomer (B) represented by CH&#x2550;C(R)C(O)O&#x2014;R(wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and Ris a Chydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 2 hydroxy groups), between a pair of transparent substrates, and curing the curable resin composition.

Provided is a process for producing a display apparatus, which comprises (a) a step of forming a seal part made of e.g. a double-sided adhesive tapeon the edge of a surface of a display device(a first plate), (b) a step of supplying a liquid photocurable resin compositionto a region enclosed by the seal part, (c) a step of laminating, in a reduced-pressure atmosphere of not more than 100 Pa, a transparent plate(a second plate) on the photocurable resin compositionthereby to obtain a laminated precursor having the photocurable resin compositionhermetically sealed, and (d) a step of curing the photocurable resin compositionin such a state that the laminated precursor is placed in a pressure atmosphere of not less than 50 kPa to form a resin layer.

A light control device according to the present invention comprises a plurality of optical elements between two transparent plates in each of which a pair of transparent substrates having taper-shaped side faces with transparent electrodes are located so as to face each other, and a light control layer capable of changing the light transmitting state by electrically controlling the pair of transparent electrodes is disposed between the pair of transparent electrodes, and further, a transparent solid layer is filled in a space formed in the gap between the two transparent plates.
