An airbag of an airbag device for a driver seat has a front panel and a back panel. In the airbag having undergone spontaneous inflation, when a size between a securing position of the airbag to a retainer member and the most protruding portion of the airbag with respect to the securing position is set as 1, the most protruding portion by the back panel is located at a position spaced from the securing position by 0.5 or greater, a diameter of the inflated airbag of an opposing portion to an inner surface of the wheel is 0.6 to 1.2 times as large as an inner diameter of the wheel, and a diameter of the inflated airbag of a joint portion of the front panel and the back panel is greater than the diameter of the inflated airbag of the opposing portion to the inner surface of the wheel.

Airbag device

When an inner bag is inflated inside an outer bag, impact on an occupant received by an airbag is reduced. An inner bag () is inflated with gas supplied from an inflator (). A gas exhaust port () is formed on the inner bag () and allows the gas to flow from the inner bag () in an occupant direction (E). An outer bag () accommodates the inner bag () and is inflated with the gas supplied from the gas exhaust port (). A restriction member restricts the inflation of a portion of the inner bag () to change a direction of which the gas flows out from the gas exhaust port () to avoid the occupant direction. The restriction member breaks during the inflation of the outer bag () to release the restriction of the inflation of the inner bag ().

An airbag device includes: an airbag; an inflator; a gas discharge state switching member; and a tether belt which is one example of a connecting member. The gas discharge state switching member is switched over from a gas discharge state to a gas non-discharge state by being pulled into the inside of the airbag. The tether belt connects the gas discharge state switching member and a portion of an inner peripheral portion of the airbag to each other. An arranged position of the gas discharge state switching member, a position where the tether belt is connected to the inner peripheral portion of the airbag, and a passing line of the tether belt are disposed at portions which avoid a portion of the airbag which comes into contact with an occupant in a regular posture state when the airbag receives the occupant.

An object is to prevent an airbag from bursting out toward an occupant and to inflate and deploy the airbag in a stable manner. An inner bag (A) inflates with gas supplied from an inflator (). An outer bag () inflates with the gas supplied through a flow port () in the inner bag (A). A connecting member () is disposed in the inner bag (A) and connects an inner surface of the inner bag (A) and a front surface of the outer bag (). As the outer bag () inflates, the connecting member () is drawn out of the inflated inner bag (A), moving the front surface of the outer bag () in the occupant direction.

An object is to prevent an airbag from bursting out toward an occupant and to inflate and deploy the airbag in a stable manner. An inner bag (A) inflates with gas supplied from an inflator (). An outer bag () inflates with the gas supplied through a flow port in the inner bag (A). A restriction member (A) restricts the movement of a front surface of the outer bag () in the occupant direction. An opening () in the restriction member (A) is engaged with the outer circumference of the inflated inner bag (A) and moves in the occupant direction along the outer circumference of the inner bag (A) in accordance with the inflation of the outer bag (). The restriction member (A) moves the front surface of the outer bag () in accordance with the movement of the opening ().

A horn switch device installed in a steering wheel includes: an ornament including a biasing projection provided to project on a back surface side thereof; a covering in which a recessed portion and a through hole are formed, the recessed portion being configured such that the ornament is mounted so as to move to be pushed thereinto and return therefrom, the through hole being configured in a bottom of the recessed portion; and a switch mechanism turned on and off in response to press and return movements of the ornament. The biasing projection penetrates the bottom of the recessed portion and projects from a back surface side thereof. The back-surface-side projecting part of the biasing projection is engaged with a biasing member on the back surface side of the covering. The biasing member receives a pressing force of the ornament and biases the ornament in the return direction.

Horn switch device and airbag device

Provided is an airbag device mounted to a steering wheel in which a mounting member is provided in a protruding manner. The airbag device includes an airbag, an inflator configured to inflate and deploy the airbag, a cover that covers the airbag, and a mounting plate. A locking body configured to be locked with the mounting member is held on the mounting plate via the holding member. The mounting plate includes a recess that is recessed from a portion for mounting the inflator. The locking body is provided in the recess of the mounting plate.

Air bag device

An airbag device installed into an instrument panel including a lid portion configured to be torn and a lid-side peripheral wall portion provided to stand on an outer periphery of the lid portion. The airbag device includes: an inflator; an airbag so as to be inflated and deployed in a bag shape by the gas introduced from the inflator; and an outer bag formed of a sheet-like member to be sewn into a three-dimensional shape having an outer-bag-side bottom and an outer-bag-side peripheral wall portion provided on an outer periphery of the outer-bag-side bottom, the outer-bag-side bottom being secured to the inflator, the outer-bag-side peripheral wall portion surrounding the folded airbag and being disposed so as to be sandwiched between the airbag being inflated and deployed and the lid-side peripheral wall portion.

An airbag device includes an airbag, an inflator, and a mounting plate. A steering wheel includes a wheel main body and a core member as a central member. A mounting member is provided to any one of the mounting plate side and the core member side, and a locking body is provided to the other thereof. The mounting member includes a column part and a locking protrusion provided in a protruding manner to a distal end portion of the column part. The locking body is locked with an inner corner portion between the column part and the locking protrusion, whereby the airbag device is mounted to the steering wheel. A locking abutment surface of the locking protrusion, which faces a proximal end portion of the column part, includes a slip-off prevention protrusion that holds the locking body on the proximal-end-portion side of the locking protrusion.

Mounting section structure for airbag device

An airbag () has a vent hole () in one side end portion. One end of a third base fabric () is sewn to the airbag () through a first sewn portion () that closes the vent hole (), and the other end of the third base fabricis sewn to the other side end portion of the airbag () through a second sewn portion (). The first sewn portion () has weaker binding force by sewing than the second sewn portion () so that the first sewn portion () is separated to open the vent hole () when tension force is applied from the third base fabric () to the first and second sewn portions () and ().

Intended is to always provide effective impact reduction by releasing gas at a timing of pushing into airbag. An airbag () has a vent hole () in one side end portion. One end of a third base fabric () is sewn to the airbag () through a first sewn portion () that closes the vent hole (), and the other end of the third base fabricis sewn to the other side end portion of the airbag () through a second sewn portion (). The first sewn portion () has weaker binding force by sewing than the second sewn portion () so that the first sewn portion () is separated to open the vent hole () when tension force is applied from the third base fabric () to the first and second sewn portions () and ().

In an airbag device, a decorative member is prevented from being scattered with a simple structure at the time of expansion of an airbag. That is, a concave part of the airbag cover () on which the decorative member is mounted is connected to an unmoved connection member while freely separable from other portions at the time of expansion of an airbag. To that end, there are formed, on the inner faces of the airbag cover (), a circular tear line Lc for partitioning the concave part () and a plurality of tear lines Lextending outward from the tear line Lc in the radial direction thereof for forming each of opening pieces (). Further, attachment pieces () of respective opening pieces () are fastened to plastic deformable attachment parts of a base plate by screws. With this structure, the concave part of the airbag cover can be immovably held at the time of spread of the airbag.

In an air bag deviceagainst a side collision which can be expanded and spread out in a gap between an outside portion of a seat of a vehicle and a wall opposite thereto owing to gas generated by an inflatorin emergency situations so as to obtain the air bag device at a low cost which system is provided with plural air chambers having difference in expansion timing and pressure depending on portions of a body of a crew, an air bagis structured by a lower air chamberprovided with the inflator and an upper air chamber, a partition unitfor partitioning the lower air chamberand the upper air chamberis structured by a cloth sewn to the air bag, and a communication holewhich introduces gas from the inflatorfrom the lower air chamberinto the upper air chamber and is closed when subjected to pressure of the upper chamber as the pressure of the lower air chamber is reduced is formed in the cloth.

In an airbag (), a length extending from a sewn portion () to a right periphery of a presser plate () is set such that a length (L) is shorter than a length (L) wherein the length (L) is at an attachment side base cloth () side and the length (L) is at a cloth-like piece () side. When the airbag () is expanded in emergency situations, the attachment side base cloth () is expanded while it moves away outwardly from the cloth-like piece (), thereby opening a vent hole (), so that the airbag () is eased in abrupt expansion directing toward an occupant. When the airbag () becomes a sufficient size to protect the occupant, it bends instantaneously a retaining plate () to release the parallel portion (B) of the cloth-like piece () from the presser plate (), so that the cloth-like piece () is brought into intimate contact with the attachment side base cloth () to close the vent hole (), thereby protecting the occupant with reliability.
