The display device includes a plurality of pixel circuits, a scanning line, an initialization control line, a light emission control line, an initialization voltage line, a first connection line, and a second connection line. The first connection line and the second connection line connect the scanning line to the initialization control line connected to, of the plurality of pixel circuits, a pixel circuit different from a pixel circuit to which the scanning line is connected. Each of the plurality of pixel circuits includes a light-emitting element, a drive transistor, a light emission control transistor, a writing control transistor, and an initialization transistor. The first connection line and the second connection line are formed in layers different from each other.

In a display device, a first power supply voltage line includes a first trunk wiring line, a plurality of branch wiring lines, and a second power supply voltage line includes a second trunk wiring line. The first trunk wiring line includes a first portion and a second portion. A line width of the first portion is smaller than a line width of the second portion. A frame region in a frame region provided with the first portion includes a first irregular frame edge having an irregular shape.

The scanning line drive circuit has a configuration in which a plurality of unit circuits are connected in multiple stages. Display device, pixel circuit, and method for driving same

Provided is a display device including a display panel which allows a curvature portion thereof to be narrowed near a terminal portion even when circuit blocks are arranged in the curvature portion. For a data line in the form of a polyline consisting of a plurality of short straight line segments in a first curvature portionof a display panel, as the distance from a terminal portionincreases, the slant angle of each straight line segment increases, the number of data lines d decreases, and hence the width of a data line area decreases. Accordingly, the number of unit circuit blocksin a parallel circuit blockdisposed in a circuit area can be increased by widening the circuit area in proportion to the decrease in the width of the data line area.

Provided is a scanning-line driving circuit configured with a plurality of unit circuits cascaded in stages and integrally formed with a display panel. The unit circuit includes a first transistor, a resistor, a second transistor, and an output transistor. The first transistor has a first conductive electrode supplied with a first-level voltage and a second conductive electrode connected to a first node. The resistor is connected to the first node at a first terminal. The second transistor has a first conductive electrode supplied with a second-level voltage and a second conductive electrode connected to a second terminal of the resistor. The output transistor has a control electrode connected to the first node and a first conductive electrode connected to an output terminal. The resistor is formed in a semiconductor layer. The unit circuit further includes an upper electrode formed above the resistor. This configuration allows the scanning-line driving circuit to prevent an operation failure due to a change in characteristics of the resistor in the unit circuit.

Thin film transistor substrate and display panel

The present application discloses to provide a display device capable of displaying an image with a luminance depending on a data signal by controlling pulling of a gate voltage of a driving transistor occurring when a writing period starts and ends and a driving method of the display device. A pixel circuit including a compensation circuit compensating variation of a threshold value of a driving transistor is provided with a boost capacitor including a MOS capacitor between a node connected to a gate terminal of the driving transistor and a scanning line. A current value of a drive current is controlled by the driving transistor by using the pulling of the potential of the node being different between a case that a low level voltage is applied the scanning line connected to the boost capacitor and a case that a high level voltage is applied.

A pixel circuit for a display device includes a drive transistor configured to control an amount of current to a light-emitting device depending upon a voltage applied to a gate of the drive transistor; a second transistor connected to the gate of the drive transistor and a second terminal of the drive transistor, such that when the second transistor is in an on state the drive transistor becomes diode-connected such that the gate and the second terminal of the drive transistor are connected through the second transistor; a light-emitting device that is connected at a first node to a third terminal of the drive transistor and at a second node to a first voltage supply; a third transistor connected to the first node of the light-emitting device, which connects a data voltage to the first node of the light-emitting device; a fourth transistor that is connected between the second terminal of the drive transistor and a second voltage supply; and at least one capacitor having a first plate that is connected to the gate of the drive transistor and a second plate that is connectable to a reference signal. The pixel circuit is operable during a phase preceding the emission phase including applying a data voltage to the first node of the light-emitting device and the third terminal of the drive transistor, the data voltage being set so that a voltage across the light-emitting device is lower than a threshold voltage of the light emitting device.

The third insulating layer does not include an organic insulating layer. The second insulating layer and the third insulating layer have a first contact hole which overlaps the second portion of the oxide semiconductor layer when viewed in a normal direction of the substrate. The first transparent electrode layer includes a transparent electrically-conductive layer which is in contact with the second portion of the oxide semiconductor layer in the first contact hole.

Semiconductor device, liquid crystal display device, and semiconductor device manufacturing method

A first substrate of a display device includes a TFT provided for each pixel and including an oxide semiconductor layer. A second substrate includes a color filter layer and a light blocking layer. At least one of a first, second and third color filter included in the color filter layer has an average transmittance of 0.2% or less for visible light having a wavelength of 450 nm or less. An active matrix substrate includes a display region in which a plurality of pixels are provided and a frame region lying outside the display region. The frame region includes a plurality of peripheral circuit TFTs which are supported by a substrate and which are constituents of a driving circuit. Each of the plurality of peripheral circuit TFTs includes a gate electrode, an oxide semiconductor layer arranged so as to at least partially extend over the gate electrode but to be insulated from the gate electrode, and source and drain electrodes connected with the oxide semiconductor layer.
