An electromagnetic actuator including a coil; a non-movable part constituted by a magnetic substance and disposed on one side relative to the coil; and a movable part including a permanent magnet on the other side relative to the coil. Applying a current to the coil alternately generates first and third driving forces to move the magnet and the movable part to one and the other sides in a first direction relative to the coil and the non-movable part. As the movable part moves from a neutral position to the one side in the first direction, a portion of the magnet positioned on the one side in the first direction relative to the first end of the first non-movable part gradually enlarges and is magnetically attracted toward the non-movable part. As the movable part moves from the neutral position to the other side in the first direction, a portion of the magnet positioned on the other side in the first direction relative to the second end of the first non-movable part gradually enlarges and is magnetically attracted toward the non-movable part.

Electromagnetic actuator and vibration generator including the same

A touch sensing device including a housing, a movable part, a covering, and a lifting actuator. The movable part is relatively movable within an opening of the housing relative to an edge portion of the opening, between first and second heights. The covering includes a flexible layer covering at least the edge portion and the movable part. The flexible layer includes first and second portions directly or indirectly fixed to the edge portion and to the movable part, respectively. The flexible layer can partly flex and stretch or partly shrink in accordance with a relative movement of the second portion relative to the first portion, from a third height to a fourth height, or vice versa. The lifting actuator can move the movable part or the edge portion to relatively move the movable part, from the first height to the second height, or vice versa, relative to the edge portion.

Touch sensing device

A capacitive touchscreen including a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer, and at least one interlayer interposed between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. The first electrode layer includes a plurality of first electrodes, and the first electrodes are arranged at spaced intervals along a first direction. The second electrode layer includes a plurality of second electrodes, and the second electrodes are arranged at spaced intervals along a second direction so as to cross the first electrodes. The second direction crosses the first direction. The at least one interlayer has a thickness set such that a coupling capacitance between each first electrode and each second electrode is between or equal to 0.5 pF and 2 pF.

Capacitive touchscreen

Disclosed is a device for accurately detecting the direction and angle of rotation independently of ambient environments. The device is provided with an equally-spaced electrode holding platehaving equally-spaced electrodesarranged along the circumference of a first circle, and a fixed phase electrode holding plate having &#x3b1; a-phase electrodes and &#x3b2; b-phase electrodes both arranged along the circumference of a second circle opposite the first circle, wherein when &#x3b1; is equal to or greater than 2, two arbitrary ones of the a-phase electrodes are at positions displaced an angle of an integral multiple of 2&#x3c0;/N apart on the circumference of the second circle in the rotation direction. When &#x3b2; is equal to or greater than 2, two arbitrary ones of the b-phase electrodes are at positions displaced an angle of an integral multiple of 2&#x3c0;/N apart on the circumference of the second circle in the rotation direction. The phase electrodes are arranged so that the a-phase electrodes and the b-phase electrodes are not displaced an angle of an integral multiple of &#x3c0;/N on the circumference of the second circle in the rotation direction.

Rotary input device and revolution sensor using the same

A proximity sensor for determining an approaching direction of an object is provided. Relative detection sensitivity is established in a first detection unit and a second detection unit such that a detection level of the first detection unit is greater than a detection level of the second detection unit when the object approaches from a first electrode in a direction of arranging the first electrode and a second electrode, and that the detection level of the second detection unit is greater than the first detection unit when the object approaches from a direction perpendicular to the direction of arranging the first electrode and the second electrode. A proximity position determining section is adapted to determine the approaching direction of the object based on the detection level of the first detection unit and the detection level of the second detection unit.
