The disclosure discloses a printer including an operation device, a display device, and a controller. The controller executes a condition deciding process, a determining process, a first mode switching process, and a second mode switching process. In the condition deciding process, printable conditions in a length and a width direction are decided. In the determining process, it is determining whether contents after the edit operation satisfy the printable conditions. In the first mode switching process, the operation mode is switched from a real-time preview mode to a text input mode in the case that the printable conditions are not satisfied. In the second mode switching process, the operation mode is returned from the text input mode to the real-time preview mode in the case that the printable conditions are satisfied after the operation mode is switched to the text input mode.

A printing head performs printing on a medium to be recorded and produce recorded matter where desired print based on print data is formed. The data acquisition portion acquires unit print data for periodically performing print formation per data print area and total length data. The data print area comprises a predetermined unit length. The total length data indicates a total length of a recorded matter print area on which a unit image corresponding to the unit print data is periodically printed. The end adjusting portion makes adjustments so as to match an end position both of the recorded matter print area and the data print area where the unit image is formed in a last sequence, by either print data mode adjustment or total length data adjustment.

Recorded matter producing apparatus

The disclosure discloses a printer comprising a take-up portion, a first memory, a consumed amount calculating portion, a first correcting portion, an operation signal input portion, and a second correcting portion. The take-up portion takes up a recording medium on which printing was performed by the printing head. The first memory stores a value related to a remaining amount or a consumed amount of the recording medium. The consumed amount calculating portion calculates a first consumed amount based on a fed amount by the feeder. The first correcting portion corrects the value stored in the first memory by the first consumed amount. The second correcting portion corrects the value r stored in the first memory by using a predetermined second consumed amount, triggered by input of the operation signal to the operation signal input portion.

This disclosure discloses a label producing apparatus comprising: an apparatus housing; a roll holder arranged on said apparatus housing that detachably mounts thereon a tape roll winding a label producing tape; an optical detecting device that optically detects a plurality of detection mark formed at a predetermined interval along a peripheral direction of a detected body provided so as to rotate at an angular velocity in coordination with an angular velocity of said tape roll on a side of said tape roll mounted to said roll holder or on a side of said apparatus housing; a residual amount identifying portion that identifies a residual tape amount of said tape roll based on a detection result of said optical detecting device; and a residual amount related information output portion that outputs residual amount related information related to said residual tape amount identified to a display device.

Label producing apparatus and tape cartridge

An image reading device includes a reading portion and a communication portion. The reading portion reads an image. The communication portion performs communications with an external device by using a first class driver and a second class driver simultaneously. The communication portion includes a first transmission portion, a receiving portion, and a second transmission portion. The first transmission portion transmits to the external device, using the first class driver, data that are used for executing an application that enables the external device to issue a command to the image reading device. The receiving portion receives a command to read an image from the external device using the second class driver. The second transmission portion transmits to the external device, in a case where the receiving portion has received the command to read an image, using the second class driver, an image that has been read by the reading portion.

Image reading device

A tape printing apparatus registers a word string constituting document data to be printed by depression of a print key in a learnt-contents storing region under subscribed conditions. A CPU divides the document data to be printed into letter strings based on information about constituent letters of the to-be-printed word string and a learning condition determination table. Thereafter, the CPU determines whether or not the to-be-printed word string should be registered based on registered letter string data stored in the learnt-contents storing region and the contents of the divided letter string.

A printer includes a connection device that connects to an external device, a printing device that prints a character on a print medium, an input device that inputs the character and an instruction, and a first data acquisition device that acquires first data created in the external device via the connection device. The printer further includes a print history storage device that stores print history information of the first data and a second data used for printing by the printing device among the first data acquired by the first data acquisition device and the second data created based on the character and the instruction inputted by the input device. A personal computer connected to a USB port of a printer through a management table managing writing on an ordinary storage region in FLASH ROM recognizes the ordinary storage region in the FLASH ROM of the printer as a removable drive which is a USB mass storage class device. Accordingly, an execution file of an application program stored in a portion of the ordinary storage region in the FLASH ROM can be read with a usual access from the personal computer, enabling the application program to be executed without being installed. When the application program is executed on the personal computer, periodic accesses are made to the ordinary storage region of the printer, and when an access fails, the application program is terminated.

In a printer, when a file is received from a personal computer connected by way of a USB port, an ordinary storage region in a FLASH ROM is recognized as a removable drive by the personal computer, which disables the writing management by a management table for managing the writing operation into the ordinary storage region in the FLASH ROM by USB standard, the received file is stored in a temporary storage region in a RAM, the attribute of the received file is determined, and when the received file is a printing file, the received file is transferred from the temporary storage region in the RAM, and written into a position in a printing memory layout region in the FLASH ROM obtained by referring to an address table.

Tape creating apparatus

It is intended to provide a picture editor which displays the color pictorial data matching designated pictorial information, according to pictorial information code of the analyzed color pictorial data of a plurality of color pictures added to the color pictorial data, picks out and displays the color pictorial data matching designated pictorial information.
