A rotating body to be inserted with a shaft includes a holding portion on an end portion of the rotating body to hold the rotating body on the shaft. The holding portion includes a hook to be elastically deformable and detachably hook on a recess of an end portion of the shaft. The holding portion is rotatingly movable, with elastic deformation of the hook, over a convex portion of the shaft that is outside the recess in an axial direction of the shaft.

An image forming apparatus includes an ink discharge unit including nozzles to discharge ink and to form an image on a recording medium; a conveyer belt to convey the recording medium so that the recording medium passes through an area facing the ink discharge unit, the conveyor belt including blank discharge holes to let the ink for a blank discharge through; a control unit to control an ink discharge operation of the ink discharge unit; a blank discharge receiver to receive the ink for the blank discharge, provided at a position facing the ink discharge unit across the conveyor belt; and a belt position detection unit to detect a position in a direction perpendicular to a belt moving direction of the conveyor belt, wherein the control unit controls the blank discharge operation of the ink discharge unit based on a detection result detected by the belt position detection unit.

An image forming apparatus includes a recording head including heads containing arranged nozzles to discharge a droplet, the heads are arranged in a zigzag form along a nozzle array direction; a conveyer belt with suction holes to convey a printing medium in a direction intersecting a head array direction; and a control unit to control an blank discharging; wherein suction hole arrays including the suction holes arranged in the head array direction, are arranged at a predetermined interval; wherein one of the suction hole arrays is a reference suction hole array including the suction hole to pass a position facing the nozzle of a nozzle array end and the nozzle in an overlapping part of two heads in the nozzle array direction; and wherein the control unit makes each nozzle discharge a blank discharging droplet to the suction holes, using the reference suction hole array as a standard.

A multicolor stencil printer including print drums each storing an ink of a particular color, pressing members each positioned and configured to move into contact with a particular one of the print drums to nip a recording medium for printing and move out of the contact to transport the recording medium toward downstream, and holding devices each assigned to a particular one of the pressing members for holding the particular one of the pressing members out of the contact with the particular one of the print drums, wherein in a color selective mode, the print drums and the pressing members selectively cooperate to nip the recording medium such that the holding devices assigned to unused pressing members hold the unused pressing members away from the print drums associated cooperatively with the unused pressing members.

Multicolor stencil printer having pressing member holding devices

A stencil printer of the present invention includes at least one ink drum for wrapping a master around its outer periphery. An ink feed device feeds ink to the master wrapped around the ink drum. A pressing member is movable into and out of contact with the ink drum at a position where it faces the ink feed device. An image is printed on a paper fed from a paper feed section at a print section where the ink drum and pressing member face each other. A belt conveyor includes a belt extending between the paper feed section located upstream of the print section in the direction of paper conveyance and a paper discharge section located downstream of the print section in the same direction through the print section. The belt conveys the paper fed from the paper feed section while causing it to electrostatically adhere thereto. The paper is sufficiently electrostatically adhered to the belt before it reaches the print section, so that air suction, an air knife, a separator or the like is not necessary. The paper is smoothly conveyed to the print section without any noise and surely separated from the ink drum. Because the pressing member brings the belt into and out of contact with the ink drum, an exclusive mechanism for so moving the belt is not necessary.
