A magnetic encoder is provided which can prevent a magnetized member from being separated from a fixed member to which the magnetized member is fixed under a severe temperature environment. The encoder includes a fixed member which is fixed to a rotating member and a magnetized member which is attached to the fixed member. The magnetized member, which is molded by mixing a magnetic powder in a resin, is bonded to the fixed member with a silicone resin based adhesive, and a thickness of an adhesive layer of the silicone resin based adhesive is 50 &#x3bc;m or more and 100 &#x3bc;m or less.

An annular sensor housing is attached to an inboard side end portion of the fixed bearing ring and includes a plurality of displacement sensors for detecting gaps between the displacement sensors and outer peripheral surfaces of inboard side end portions of the rotary bearing ring in a circumferential direction. Further, an inboard side end portion of the sensor housing is sealed by an inner side seal device.

Rolling bearing assembly for wheel

A bearing device in which a rolling bearing is fitted on one axial end of a shaft and in which the one axial end of the shaft is caulked to fix the rolling bearing while preventing the same from coming out. A wheel speed detector for detecting a relative rotating speed between an outer ring and an inner ring by means of a magnetic sensor in association with a magnetic ring. A stationary seal member is fixed to the stationary ring and a rotatable seal member is fixed to the rotatable ring. The seal members engage to seal a gap between the inner ring and the outer ring. The magnetic sensor is fixed to a radial inner surface of the stationary seal member and the magnetic ring is fixed to a radial outer or a radial inner surface of the rotatable seal member and surfaces of the magnetic ring other than that fixed to the radial inner surface of the rotatable seal member are covered with a seal lip.

Wheel speed detector having stationary seal member for mounting magnetic sensor

This wheel speed detector is constructed of a magnetic sensor and a magnetic ring and is integrated with the inside of a seal device. The magnetic ring constitutes a part (core bar) of the seal device. A double row tapered roller bearing with vertex of contact angles outside of the bearing is externally fitted to an outer periphery of a hub wheel to which a wheel is attached. A shaft end of the hub wheel is deformed outwardly in a radial direction so as to be caulked to an outer end surface of an inner ring of the bearing. A raceway track of at least one of the inner ring and the outer ring in the bearing is designed so as to satisfy a condition that a predetermined form is secured in a state that the raceway track is elastically deformed by the caulking. As a result, satisfactory rolling performance of the tapered roller after the caulking is secured, and a predetermined life of the bearing apparatus after the caulking can be obtained.

There is provided magnetizing apparatus and magnetizing method for a magnetized pulser ring, by which magnetic force to which a cylindrical elastic magnetic member is magnetized can be enhanced, and yet in which centering of a magnetizing yoke is easy to achieve. A magnetizing portion of the magnetizing yoke is a conical surface slightly tilted with respect to an axis thereof. The magnetizing yoke is inserted into a cylindrical steel plate of the magnetized pulser ring so that the magnetizing portion of the magnetizing yoke is brought into close contact with one axial end portion of the cylindrical elastic magnetic member.

This ring speed detector is constructed of a magnetic sensor and a magnetic ring and is integrated with the inside of a seal device. Compact wheel speed detector capable of saving space and improving workability

A pulser ring and a pickup sensor are sealingly housed by a seal so as to prevent the penetration of foreign matters. The pulser ring is fixedly mounted on one end face side of an inner ring that is mounted on a drive shaft side to thereby rotate together therewith. The seal has a resilient material mounted at a distal end of a metal ring, and is fixedly mounted on one end face side of an outer ring fixed to a vehicle body side which one end face side corresponds to the one end face side of the inner ring. The seal encompasses the pulser ring inside thereof. The resilient material of the seal is brought into close and slidable contact with an outer circumferential surface of a drive shaft. The pickup sensor is supported by the metal ring.
