The electric junction box of this invention has a plurality of connector receiving sockets mounted on its insulating box. Selected one of the connector receiving sockets, or the first connector receiving socket, is attached with a locking cover, which is urged by a spring to lie flat over the adjacent or second connector receiving socket. A first connector can be assembled onto the first socket but a second connector cannot be connected to the second socket unless the locking cover is erected and locked onto the first connector. To rule out the slightest possibility of erroneous connection sequence, a connection sequence check member is provided to the second connector. Should the second connector be assembled onto the mating socket first, prior to the first connector, by erecting the locking cover, the connection sequence check member abuts against the back of the locking cover to cause the locking cover to advance in the way of the first connector, so that the first connector is blocked and cannot be assembled onto the associated socket, alerting the assembly worker to the wrong sequence of the connector assembly.

Connectors with cover providing connection sequence control

The electric junction box according to this invention consists of an insulating box with a connector receiving portion and an opening formed next to it in which a through-connector is mounted. A multipole connector consisting of two portions formed as one portion is engaged with the connector receiving portion of the junction box and with the through-connector to provide electrical connection. A locking means is provided at the opening between the through-connector and the insulating box to prevent the through-connector from slipping off. The locking means is so constructed as to allow the slight movement in the opening of the through-connector. This permits the through-connector to be shifted and aligned with the incoming mating connector of the multipole connector as the mating connector is fastened to the through-connector, thus assuring correct and smooth connection between them.

Electric junction box

A wiring connection apparatus is disclosed in which an electric connection box connected to connectors of terminals of wire harnesses is housed and fixed in a protecting cover. A reception seat for fixing the electric connection box by means of a screw is fixed to the protecting cover. A lock unit is provided between the reception seat and the connectors of the terminals of the wire harnesses so that the electric connection box and the connectors may be simultaneously connected to each other when the electric connection box is fixed to the reception seat by the screw.

Wiring connection apparatus

The multi-terminal connectors consists of male terminals provided in one of mating connector housings and corresponding female terminals in the other connector housing. The two mating connector housings are joined together by a bolt and a nut for secure connection between terminals, the bolt being provided to one of the connector housings, the nut being provided to the other connector housing. The terminals in the connector housings are so arranged in rows that the quantity of terminals per row progressively decreases in proportion to the distance from the center axis of the housings toward the periphery, to reduce over the entire length of the connector housings, the net bending moment applied on the connector housings when the mating terminals are engaged. This prevents the connector housings from being warped and therefore terminals near the periphery from being connected inclined, assuring smooth and secure connection of terminals.

Screw-fastening type multi-connector

A connector has at least one connector terminal which includes two electrical contacting sections connectable to partner terminals and a deformable plate connected between said electrical contacting sections and bent so as to shorten a distance between the electrical contacting sections, wherein said deformable plate sections comprises a first deformable plate portion for allowing said two electrical contacting sections to displace forward or away from each other in a first direction and a second plate portion for allowing said electrical contacting sections to displace in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and a set of connector housing for accommodating said electrical contacting sections therein, respectively. One of said connector housings is displaceably assembled to the other connector housing such that a deviation between the electrical contacting section and the partner terminal can be corrected by adjusting the position of the displaceable connector housing.
