A cartridge including a rotatable image bearing member which bears a developer, a cleaning member for removing a developer remaining on a surface of the image bearing member, the cleaning member having a contact portion in contact with the surface of the image bearing member and a support portion which supports the contact portion, a developer recovering portion which recovers the developer removed by the cleaning member, a first conveyance member which is disposed inside the developer recovering portion and conveys the recovered developer in a rotation axis direction of the image bearing member, a second conveyance member which conveys the developer conveyed by the first conveyance member in a direction crossing the rotation axis direction toward a discharge port provided in the developer recovering portion, and a third conveyance member to convey the developer toward the center of the photosensitive drum in the rotational axis direction. The second conveyance member is disposed at an inner side of the contact portion of the cleaning member with respect to an end part of the contact portion of the cleaning member.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body including a first positioning portion, a first cartridge including a developer bearing member, and a second positioning portion, the first cartridge being attachable to and detachable from the apparatus body, and a second cartridge including a storage portion configured to accommodate the developer, a first positioned portion, and a second positioned portion. The second cartridge is configured to be attached to and detached from the apparatus body in a state where the first cartridge is attached to the apparatus body, and a position of the second cartridge in the attachment direction and an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the attachment direction with respect to the apparatus body and the first cartridge is determined by the first positioning portion and the second positioning portion coming into contact with the first positioned portion and the second positioned portion, respectively.

Image forming apparatus

A developing unit, which is attachable to and detachable from a photosensitive member unit, includes: a developing roller; a housing in which a holding space that holds toner is formed; and a pressing receiving portion that receives pressing force from a pressing member. The housing includes a first bottom portion that projects toward an outer side of the holding space, and a second bottom portion that projects toward the outer side of the holding space, in a state in use. When viewed in a direction of a rotation axis of the developing roller, at least part of the pressing receiving portion is located in a space surrounded by the first bottom portion, the second bottom portion, and a tangent line tangent to both an outer wall of the first bottom portion and an outer wall of the second bottom portion.

Process cartridge

A cartridge includes a photosensitive drum rotatable about an axis extending in an axial direction; a memory including a storing element configured to store information, a memory contact electrically connected to the storing element, and a substrate having a surface on which the memory contact is provided; and a frame which supports the photosensitive drum, on which the substrate is mounted, and which includes a first end with respect to the axial direction and a second end opposite from the first end. The frame includes a container provided with an accommodating chamber for accommodating a developer collected from the photosensitive drum and with an opening communicating with the accommodating chamber and includes a mounting member mounted on the container so as to cover the opening. The mounting member includes a supporting portion for supporting the substrate.

Cartridge, toner cartridge, and image forming apparatus

A cartridge is used, which has a receptacle with a replenishment port from which a developer is replenished and which is configured to receive the developer replenished from the replenishment port. The receptacle has a transport region that is located lower than the replenishment port in the direction of gravity, where the received developer is transported in a transport direction. The receptacle is provided with a first filter and a second filter downstream and upstream of the replenishment port respectively in the transport direction. The first filter and second filter restrict passage of the developer while allowing passage of air. The first filter or the second filter is located higher than the transport region in the direction of gravity.

A mountable unit set usable with an electrophotographic-image-forming apparatus includes a cartridge and an attachment. A cartridge includes a photosensitive drum and a coupling member for receiving a driving force for rotating the photosensitive drum, from a driving shaft. An attachment includes a cylindrical portion for being mounted to a periphery of the driving shaft to suppress tilting of the driving shaft. Tilting of a driving-force transmitting member is suppressed.

The present invention is a vibration damping device () that includes an external member () attached to one of a vibration-generating portion and a vibration-receiving portion; a tubular member () attached to the other of the vibration-generating portion and the vibration-receiving portion; and an elastic body () which connects the external member () and the tubular member (). The external member () includes a frame-like member () having a rectangular shape when viewed from the top. In the elastic body (), a long-side portion () forming a long side of a rectangular shape when viewed from the top adheres to an inner circumferential surface of the long-side portion () of the frame-like member (), and a short-side portion () forming a short side of the rectangular shape when viewed from the top comes into contact with the external member () in a long-side direction (X) in which the long-side portion () extends when viewed from the top, in a non-adhering state.

Vibration damping device

A manufacturing method of a cartridge, the cartridge having a frame; a blade member fixed to the frame; a rotating member; and a bearing member for supporting the rotating member, the manufacturing method including: attaching the rotating member to the bearing member; fitting an adjustment shaft provided at the frame with an adjustment hole provided at the bearing member; adjusting a relative position of the bearing member with respect to the frame in a crossing direction crossing the rotational axial direction; and welding the frame and the bearing member after the adjusting, wherein at least one of the frame or the bearing member is melted such that a melted portion is formed between an inner peripheral surface of the adjustment hole and the adjustment shaft in the crossing direction.

Manufacturing method of cartridge and cartridge

A supporting unit for supporting a rotatable member to feed a developer includes a frame including a first surface extending in a direction crossing an axis of the rotatable member and a second surface extending in a direction crossing the first surface, and a fixed member. The fixed member includes (i) a first opposing surface opposing and contacting the first surface, (ii) a second opposing surface opposing the second surface, and (iii) a first front side surface opposite from the second opposing surface. The second opposing surface is welded to the second surface by ultrasonic spot welding such that a first recess is formed on the first front side surface.

Supporting unit, developer container, developing device, photosensitive member unit, process cartridge and manufacturing method of the supporting unit

A manufacturing method of a cartridge, the cartridge being attachable to an apparatus main body of an image forming apparatus, the cartridge including a first member and a second member, the first member including a receiving surface and a retaining portion, and the second member including a contact surface in contact with the receiving surface. In the manufacturing method, the first member and the second member are held so that the contact surface covers the retaining portion and so that the contact surface and the receiving surface are in contact with each other and joined by ultrasonic spot welding so that a recess recessed towards the retaining portion is formed in the second member and so that at least part of a fused portion of the first member and the second member enters the retaining portion.
