A sparingly water-soluble plant quality improver characterized by containing a polyvalent metal, an organic acid having a carboxylic group, an alkali metal and/or ammonia, and phosphate ions and/or carbonate ions. The sparingly water-soluble plant quality improver inhibits or alleviates physiological disorders of plants and further has the function of improving qualities of the plants, such as sugar content and acidity. It is also characterized in that it causes little fruit surface soiling to heighten the merchandice value, and that it is lowly phytotoxic and highly safe.

A food additive slurry or powder composition is disclosed which comprises 100 parts by weight of at least one selected from the group consisting of calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate and dolomite (A) and 0.5 to 60 parts by weight of arabinogalactan (B). The food additive slurry composition of the present invention is highly concentrated and excellent in dispersion stability in liquid, which can be effectively utilized for the enrichment of calcium and/or magnesium by adding to foods such as yogurt, cow's milk, juice, milk powder, instant noodles and biscuits.

An inorganic particles-containing additive composition is disclosed which contains a polyvalent metal, a phosphoric acid ion, an organic acid having a carboxyl group and an alkali metal, said composition satisfying the following requirements of (a) and (b):70&#x2266;X&#x2266;90000&#x2003;&#x2003;(a) X: Amount (mg/Kg) of the alkali metal contained in a solid content of the additive composition,0.1&#x2266;Y&#x2266;15&#x2003;&#x2003;(b) Y: Electric conductivity (mS/cm) when the additive composition is adjusted to a solid concentration of 10% by weight. The additive composition is excellent not only in dispersibility and storage stability in a liquid, but also in flavor.

A method for manufacturing a food additive slurry composition is disclosed which comprises preparing a precursor by mixing water, a polyvalent metal compound and an organic acid having a carboxyl group, then adding to the precursor a phosphoric acid source and an alkali metal by the specific method. The obtained food additive slurry composition is not only excellent in dispersibility, dispersion stability in liquid and flavor, but low in slurry viscosity and good in handling.

Manufacturing method of food additive composition and food composition containing the same

A food additive slurry or powder composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of at least one selected from the group consisting of calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate and ferric pyrophosphate (A) and 1 to 60 parts by weight of gum arabic (B), anda calcium ion concentration M (mg/l) satisfying 10<M&lE;500. The composition is superior not only in re-dispersibility and dispersion stability in liquid for a long period of time, and flavor, but is capable of providing highly concentrated products, and therefor it is advantageous economically.
