A coating device includes a head, a wiping mechanism, an arm, and a controller. The head includes a nozzle surface for discharging a coating material. The wiping mechanism wipes the nozzle surface. The arm holds the head. The controller controls movement of the head via the arm. The controller relatively moves the head with respect to the wiping mechanism to wipe the nozzle surface.

A head comprises multiple nozzles on an ejection surface. The number n of nozzle rows each comprising a plurality m of nozzles arranged in a direction intersecting a first direction are disposed parallel to each other, where n and m are integers 2 or greater. Between the nozzles of each nozzle row, the nozzles of other of the nozzle rows are located as viewed in the first direction and the plurality of nozzles are located at the number m&#xd7;n of dot positions. A length from an area centroid of a surface pressurized by a displacement element in the pressurizing chamber to the area centroid via the first individual flow path, first common flow path, and second individual flow path in this order is longer than twice a length from the area centroid to the second common flow path via the third individual flow path.

A first channel member of a liquid ejection head includes a plurality of plates stacked through an adhesive. A first plate includes a second groove configuring the second common channel, and a plurality of first grooves which are communicated with the second groove from a wall surface of the second groove and individually configure a plurality of third individual channels. A second plate is bonded to a top surface of the first plate and configures an upper surface of the second common channel. A channel member includes an integrating channel, a plurality of common channels, a plurality of individual channels, and a plurality of ejection ports. The integrating channel extends in a first direction. The plurality of common channels extends in a second direction, is spaced apart from each other in the first direction, and is individually connected to the integrating channel. The plurality of individual channels is connected to the respective plurality of common channels. Each of the plurality of ejection ports is linked with at least one corresponding individual channel. Each of the plurality of common channels includes a first connection region connected to the plurality of individual channels, and a second connection region connected to the integrating channel. Each of the plurality of common channels includes an opening in the second connection region linked with the integrating channel, and a damper in a portion facing the opening.

In a liquid ejection head, an ejection unit of a channel member includes an ejection hole, a pressurizing chamber connected to the ejection hole, a first channel and a second channel each connecting the pressurizing chamber and a first common channel, and a third channel connecting the pressurizing chamber and a second common channel. The first common channel, in the channel direction, includes a plurality of first portions, and a plurality of second portions each located between each two of the plurality of first portions and having smaller cross-sectional areas than those of the first portions in front and back of the same. A liquid discharge head includes a flow passage member and a plurality of pressurizing sections. The flow passage member includes a plurality of discharge holes, a plurality of pressurizing chambers respectively connected to a plurality of the discharge holes, a plurality of first flow passages respectively connected to a plurality of the pressurizing chambers, a second flow passage commonly connected to a plurality of the first flow passages, a plurality of third flow passages respectively connected to a plurality of the pressurizing chambers, and a fourth flow passage commonly connected to a plurality of the third flow passages. A plurality of the pressurizing sections respectively pressurizes liquid in a plurality of the pressurizing chambers. A flow passage resistance in the third flow passages is lower than a flow passage resistance in the first flow passages. In the flow passage member, a damper is formed in the fourth flow passage.

A liquid discharge head of the present disclosure includes a flow path member having a plurality of discharge holes, a plurality of pressure chambers, a plurality of first common flow paths, a plurality of second common flow paths, and a plurality of pressure sections. The first common flow paths and the second common flow paths are linked through a connection flow path outside a connection range C, the connection range C being linked through the pressure chambers. The flow path member is configured by laminating a plurality of flat plates. The connection flow path includes holes and/or grooves disposed in plates other than the common flow path plates that constitute the first common flow paths and the second common flow paths.
