The object of the present invention is to provide a water treatment device in which temperature does not affect performance in nitrogen removal. Water circulates in a first anaerobic filter bed chamber, a second anaerobic filter bed chamber, a contact aeration chamber, a sedimentation chamber, and an electrolytic chamberfor phosphorus removal. The supernatant in sedimentation chamberflows into a disinfection chamberand is then sent to an electrolytic chamberfor nitrogen removal. An electrode pair is provided inside electrolytic chamber. Halogen ions present in the water are oxidized on the anode side. After halogen gas is generated, this gas reacts with water and generates hypohalous acid. On the cathode side, the nitrogen components in the water are converted to nitrate ions, and these nitrate ions are further converted to ammonium ions. The hypohalous acid and ammonium ions react, and the nitrogen components are converted to nitrogen gas by way of chloramine.

Water treatment device

A waste treatment system permitting treatment of organic wastes at low cost is provided. In the waste treatment system, organic wastes such as sewage, garbage and sludge are introduced into a methane fermentation bath for anaerobic fermentation. The methane gas produced in the bath is refined in a gas holder and then supplied to an electric generator, where the methane gas is used as a raw material for power generation. Digested liquid within the methane fermentation bath is supplied to an electrolytic bath via a flow adjustment bath and a fine screen. In the electrolytic bath, the digested liquid is subjected to electrolysis, by applying potentials to an electrode pair in the electrolytic bath based on the electric power obtained by the electric generator. By the electrolysis, nitrogen components including organic nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen, and BOD, SS and phosphorus components are removed from the digested liquid.

A washing machine according to the present invention is a new washing machine which is compact and can realize uniform and good washing. The plane shape of a washing tub 211 is an approximately rectangular inner shape which is defined by a bottom 213, a pair of long side walls 214a and 214b, and a pair of short side walls 215a and 215b. A pulsator 212 is so provided on the one long side wall 214b out of the pair of long side walls that its center axis 219 is perpendicular to the long side wall 214b. The diameter A of a disk 220 of the pulsator 212 is so set that W&lt;A. Further, a projection 221 of the pulsator 212 is a projection which is long in the radial direction of the disk 220, so that the height thereof from the surface of the disk 220 is large on the side of the circumference of the disk 220. In the washing machine, the pulsator 212 is increased in the efficiency of agitation of wash water and laundry in the washing tub 211 while being longitudinally arranged.
