To reduce the load required to press-fit a nut into a plate material, the nut includes a base partprovided with a female screw, a cylindrical protrusion partprotruding from one surface of the base part and a plurality of foot partsprotruding from an outer peripheral surface side of the protrusion part. An end of the respective foot parts closer to the protrusion part is formed so that a width gradually expands from a tip end side toward a protrusion part side, and that both outer sides of the end are arc-shaped in plan view.

Staking bolt

There is provided a caulking bolt which can be fastened by a general nut even when used to fix thin plates to each other, and which can also provide fitting strength similar to that of conventional products. The caulking bolt includes a head part and a shaft part, and has a non-circular, flat, rotation preventive protrusion formed on a seat surface of the head part. Also, the upper end of a normal complete thread part formed in the shaft part is brought close to the seat surface of the head part with a distance of 3 pitches or less, and an incomplete thread part formed at the portion of 3 pitches or less is used as a stopper part into which a metal flows when the caulking bolt is driven into a metal plate.

Caulking bolt

There are provided a bolt caulking method and a bolt caulking device which ensure supply and caulking of a bolt as a single operation. The method is a bolt caulking method including supplying a bolt into a nose piece having a vertical hole, and lowering a punch from above to drive the bolt into a metal plate. The bolt is supplied through a pipe connected to a side of the nose piece, and dropped into a vertical hole formed in the nose piece along an inclined hole formed at a tip end of the pipe with a head part of the bolt being located on the topside. Thereafter, the punch which ejects air from a central hole is lowered within the vertical hole to drive the bolt into a metal plate while holding the bolt at a lower part of the vertical hole by the ejecting air flow.

The present invention is directed to provide a tapping screw for a soft material having a sufficiently large stripping torque compared to a driving torque and an increased tolerance of a fastening torque, and characterized in that it has threads each having a leading flank and a following flank, the leading flank being designed to be steeper than the following flank, that an R is imparted to a crest of each thread on the following flank side, that an R is also imparted to each flank at a portion contiguous to a root thereof and that the former R and the latter R being designed to connect smoothly to each other at the root.
