A HART modem includes: a HART/Host communication conversion unit, which relays communication between a HART device and a HART host device; a communication waveform detection unit configured to generate data sampled from HART communication signals transmitted and received to and from the HART device; and a communication interface unit configured to transmit the data generated by the communication waveform detection unit to the HART host device.

HART modem and diagnostic system

A HART modem includes: a HART/Host communication conversion unit, which relays communication between a HART device and a diagnostic device or a host device; a communication waveform detection unit configured to record data sampled from HART communication signals transmitted and received to and from the HART device in a communication waveform temporary storage unit; a communication content monitoring unit configured to monitor contents of HART communication and instruct the communication waveform detection unit to start recording and stop the recording of data according to a signal acquisition timing specified by a user; and a waveform acquisition management unit configured to transmit data accumulated in the communication waveform temporary storage unit to the diagnostic device when the recording of the data is stopped.

Equipment information including an installation height, which is an elevation, is stored as equipment information in an equipment management DB as location information for the location wherein an applicable piece of equipment is installed, and in a terminal device, the equipment information for the applicable equipment is acquired from the equipment management DB by a location information displaying unit in response to a display request operation, and a differential height, acquired through subtracting the current height, detected by a height detecting unit, from the installation height of the equipment, included in the equipment information that was acquired, is displayed on the screen of a screen displaying unit.

A controller is provided with a first memory area and a second memory area, where a pre-update software is stored with the first memory area as the active area and an updated software is downloaded with the second memory area as an inactive memory area. A microprocessor for simulations performs a simulation of the control of the operation of a field device using the updated software that has been downloaded. The execution status of the simulation can be monitored using a host computer. If the evaluation result of the state of execution of the simulation by an operator is 'Pass,' then an activate command is sent to the controller. As a result, the active/inactive are switched in the controller.

In a design part reusing method in a configuration tool, a reference link defining an alias relationship between one functional object and another functional object is set. The reference link is explicitly displayed on a display between icons respectively representing one functional object and another functional object. One functional object and another functional object are set as aliases on the basis of the reference link. The reference link is explicitly disconnected to cancel the alias relationship on the display.
