The instant invention relates to elastomeric compositions especially useful for manufacturing articles for tires which comprise: (1) at least one butadienic elastomer E, containing a functionalized butadienic elastomer prepared in solution, and modified by a polyfunctional alkoxy silane coupling agent; and (2) a specific precipitated silica having high dispersibility properties and containing aluminum, as at least one reinforcing filler in said butadienic elastomer.

There is obtained a rubber composition excellent in processability of unvulcanized compounded rubber, excellent in wear resistance and wet skid resistance of vulcanized rubber, low in rolling resistance, and suitable for tire applications, particularly for tire tread applications in which importance is given to low fuel consumption and safety. A rubber composition mainly comprising (I) 0.5 to 35% by weight of a conjugated diene-based (co)polymer rubber having an amino group and an alkoxysilyl group on a polymer chain and having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 90,000, and (II) 99.5 to 65% by weight of a conjugated diene-based (co)polymer rubber having a weight average molecular weight of 100,000 to 2,000,000 (with the proviso that (I)+(II)=100% by weight).

A method for producing an alkoxysilyl group-containing conjugated diolefin (co)polymer rubber by polymerizing a conjugated diolefin or a conjugated diolefin and an aromatic vinyl compound in a hydrocarbon solvent by anionic polymerization using as an initiator at least one metal compound selected from an organic alkali metal compound and an organic alkali earth metal compound, and then allowing an alkoxysilane-based compound to react, wherein after the alkoxysilane-based compound has been allowed to react, an alkaline compound is added at the time of desolvation, and treatment is conducted at a pH of 8 to 12.

Conjugated-diolefin (co)polymer rubber and process for producing the same

A process for producing a conjugated diene copolymer rubber which comprises initiating a copolymerization reaction in a reaction system containing a first conjugated diene compound and a first aromatic vinyl compound and completing the reaction, adding a first polyfunctional monomer to the reaction system, optionally further adding a second conjugated diene compound and a second aromatic vinyl compound, and further conducting copolymerization reaction, and adding a modifier to the reaction system to react the modifier with the copolymer. A rubber composition having excellent processability, exhibiting sufficient hardness even after vulcanization, and possessing reduced rolling resistance can be obtained.

Process for producing conjugated diene copolymer rubber

Disclosed are a conjugated diolefin (co) polymer rubber formed from either a conjugated diolefin or a conjugated diolefin and an aromatic vinyl compound, wherein the (co) polymer rubber has a primary amino group and an alkoxysilyl group which are bonded to a (co) polymer chain; a process for producing the same; a rubber composition; a composite; and a tire. The (co) polymer rubber has satisfactory processability, and can give an automotive tire tread having a balance among wear resistance, failure characteristics, low hysteresis loss and wet-skid characteristics.

The present invention provides a rubber composition that provides excellent vibration-isolating properties, a vibration isolating rubber formed from the rubber composition and a vibration-isolating mount. The rubber composition contains 5 to 40 parts by weight of a styrene-butadiene-based copolymer rubber, having a weight-average molecular weight of 200,000 or less and a glass transition temperature of &minus;35&deg; C. or higher; and 95 to 60 parts by weight of a diolefin-based rubber, having a weight-average molecular weight exceeding 200,000 and a glass transition temperature of &minus;20&deg; C. or lower; where the weight are based on 100 parts by weight of the total amount of both. A vibration-isolating rubber comprising this composition has a performance relationship between a dynamic-to-static modulus ration (Kd/Ks), which is a ratio of a dynamic spring constant (Kd) to a static spring constant (Ks), and a loss factor (tan &dgr;), as shown by the equation (1): Kd/Ks&lE;20 tan &dgr;&minus;1.8 (1). This vibration-isolating rubber is used for a vibration-isolating mount.

An objective of the present invention is to provide rubber composition and method for producing the same capable of giving a vulcanized rubber which has an excellent processability and a sufficient wearing resistance and which is useful for a tire. A rubber composition in the invention is obtained by the following step of preparing a first rubber formulation &lsqb;P1&rsqb; by kneading a formulation (A1) comprising a rubber component containing a conjugated diene-based rubber and a silica, preparing a second rubber formulation &lsqb;P2&rsqb; by kneading a formulation (B1) comprising a mixed material containing a silane coupling agent and the first rubber formulation &lsqb;P1&rsqb;, and kneading a formulation (C) comprising the second rubber formulation &lsqb;P2&rsqb;, a zinc oxide and a vulcanizing agent. Such conjugated diene-based rubber is preferably one having at least one selected from the group consisting of an alkoxysilyl, an amino, a hydroxyl and an epoxy groups.

Rubber compositions and methods for producing the same

The object of the present invention is to provide a rubber composition with excellent workability, which gives vulcanized products with high wet skid resistance, low rolling resistance and high abrasion resistance, and a tire with those excellent properties. The rubber composition comprising a diene-based rubber (a), silica (b) and a compatibilizer (c). Said compatibilizer (c) is at least one selected from among (I) Aminosilane compounds; (II) Epoxy group-containing compounds; and (III)(IV) Compounds which have an amino group or a polymerizable unsaturated bond, together with a hydroxyl group, an epoxy group, an ether bond, a carboxyl group, an ester bond or a polymerizable unsaturated bond in the molecule.

Rubber composition and tire

An oil extended rubber comprising 100 parts by weight of (A) an amino group-containing copolymer rubber of a conjugated diolefin and an aromatic vinyl compound which contains bonded amino groups in the amount of 0.0025-0.20 mmol/g polymer, and 10-100 parts by weight of (B) an extensible oil. Carbon black, silica, a mixture of carbon black and silica, or a carbon-silica dual-phase-filler can be homogeneously dispersed in the oil extended rubber. Vulcanized products obtained by vulcanizing the rubber exhibits well-balanced improved properties such as wet skid properties, low hysteresis loss properties, abrasion resistance, and breaking strength, and are useful as a tread material for low fuel consumption tires, large tires, and high performance tires.

Oil extended rubber and rubber composition

A conjugated diolefin copolymer rubber and a rubber composition which can produce vulcanized products exhibiting well-balanced improved properties such as wet skid properties, low hysteresis loss properties, abrasion resistance, and breaking strength irrespective of the types and combinations of fillers to be added, and is useful as a tread material for low fuel consumption tires, large tires, and high performance tires. A conjugated diolefin copolymer rubber is prepared by the copolymerization of a conjugated diolefin and a vinyl aromatic compound, and (1) has a content of the bonded vinyl aromatic compound of 5-50 wt %, (2) contains 0.01-5.0 mmol of an alkoxysilyl group having substantially non-hydrolyzable Si&mdash;O&mdash;R bond (wherein R indicates a hydrocarbon group having 4-20 carbon atoms) and 0.01-2.0 mmol of a tin-carbon bond for 100 g of the copolymer rubber, and (3) has a polymodal-type molecular weight distribution.

Conjugated diolefin copolymer rubber and rubber composition

A rubber composition exhibiting excellent low rolling resistance, high wet skid properties, and superior wear resistance, and suitably used as a vulcanized rubber for tire tread. The rubber composition comprises a styrene-butadiene copolymer previously extended using an extender oil, in an amount from 30 to 100 wt % of the total rubber components, and an extender oil in an amount from 6 to 50 parts by weight for 100 parts by weight of the total rubber components, of which 20 to 50 parts by weight of the extender oil for 100 parts by weight of styrene-butadiene copolymer is used to previously extend the styrene-butadiene copolymer. The styrene-butadiene copolymer has a styrene content from 5 to 45 wt %, 20 to 80% of a microstructure 1,2-bond of butadiene portion, a glass transition temperature from -55.degree. C. to -20.degree. C., and 40 wt % or more of a single styrene bond and 10 wt % or less of long styrene chain which contains 8 or more styrene molecules, among the total styrene bonds.
