A valve, which is rotated about a rotational axis, includes a valve outer peripheral portion. The valve outer peripheral portion has a valve inflow port for supplying fluid to a flow passage of the valve outer peripheral portion and valve outflow ports for discharging the fluid from the flow passage. The valve outflow ports include: a main outflow port which is configured to communicate with a whole of a seat opening of a valve seat; and a plurality of intermediate outflow ports, each of which is configured to communicate with a portion of the seat opening. An axial dimension of each intermediate outflow port, which is measured in an axial direction of the rotational axis, is smaller than an axial dimension of the seat opening, which is measured in the axial direction. The axial dimension of each intermediate outflow port is progressively changed in a circumferential direction.

A sleeve member of a movable unit has a first pressure receiving surface and a second pressure receiving surface. The first pressure receiving surface receives a first fluid pressure in an axial direction opposite to a biasing force of a spring, when a valve member closes a seat opening portion. The second pressure receiving surface receives a second fluid pressure in the same axial direction to a direction of the biasing force of the spring, when the valve member closes the seat opening portion. A first surface area and a second surface area are made to be equal to each other. Each of the first and the second surface areas is an area of a projected portion on a virtual plane perpendicular to the axial direction. A valve device includes: a valve having a ball surface having a convex spherical shape, and a first opening opened in the ball surface to allow fluid to pass through; and a seat having an annular shape and opposing the ball surface to be in sliding contact, the seat being pressed against the ball surface, the seat having a second opening to communicate with the first opening. The seat has a sealing surface in a sliding contact with the ball surface at a valve closed time when the ball surface and the second opening overlap with each other, and a seat contact surface in a sliding contact with an opening inner wall surface or an opening end surface of the first opening at a valve opened time when the first opening and the second opening overlap with each other.

A sound absorbing structure includes multiple sound absorbers. The sound absorbers are assembled together into a sound absorbing member. The sound absorbing member absorbs sound emitted from a sound source. Each of the sound absorbers is shaped like a hollow tube. Each of the sound absorbers has a hole extending in its axis direction.

An air-intake device having a noise reduction mechanism includes a surge tank connected to an intake manifold for introducing intake air into an internal combustion engine, an air duct connected to an upstream end of the surge tank and a resonator connected to the surge tank and the air duct. The resonator forms a resonator chamber connected to both the surge tank and the air duct. The surge tank is separated from the resonator chamber by a first vibrating member, and the air duct is separated from the resonator chamber by a second vibrating member. The noises in the surge tank are offset or reduced by resonating vibrations of the first vibrating member, and the noises in the air duct are offset or reduced by resonating vibrations of the second vibrating member. Thus, the intake air noises are effectively reduced by a simple combination of the resonator and the vibrating members.

A moving core includes a magnetic body having a rough face-shaped wall portion at a side facing a stationary core, a plated layer portion provided on the magnetic body and including a micro concave and convex portion on the surface layer of the plated layer portion, and a lubricating layer portion provided so as to cover the plated layer portion to store lubricating particles in the concave portions of the plated layer portion. A clearance between adjacent convex portions of the micro concave and convex portion is smaller than a clearance between adjacent convex portions of concavity and convexity of the plated layer portion. The lubricating particle is larger than the clearance between the adjacent convex portions of the micro concave and convex portion and smaller than the clearance between adjacent convex portions of the plated layer portion.

Electromagnetic drive device

An electromagnetic valve generally has a housing, a valve element, an electromagnetic driving portion and a filter. The housing forms a fluid flow passage therein. The valve element is installed in the housing to control a flow of a fluid through the fluid flow passage. The electromagnetic driving portion is installed in the housing to generate a magnetic attraction force when it is energized to actuate the valve element. At least a part of the electromagnetic coil is within the fluid flow passage. The filter is installed in the fluid flow passage on an upstream side of the at least a part of the electromagnetic driving portion to filtrate the fluid flowing through the fluid flow passage.
